NEW SKANDY CANDY!!

"The summer vacation was spent filming in Australia on the Gold Coast and after six weeks Skandar was lucky to get a Friday off so went to Sydney for a three-day break. The holiday was soon over as his teachers arrived from England and school has started again. At the same time filming of the boat at Cleveland Point has started and will last for three weeks. The boat is even more magical than in the pictures posted by fans on the internet so wait till you see the film!"

Guess who is back on set, looking as fantastic as always?
We've got some updates from the set of VOTDT, currently being filmed off the Australian coast nears Queensland.

Eighteen years ago today, Skandar Keynes came into this world. I think that's a pretty good reason to celebrate, don't you? Hence, the official birthday post for Skandar! Let's all wish him a big happy birthday and remember if you'd like to send him a letter -- it's better late than never!

Some Voyage of the Dawn Treader development! I found this quite interesting myself, it's finally starting to remind me how excited I should be!

Hi everyone! This is my first time posting to the community, and I'm bringing you a little bit of Narnia fanfiction, specifically a romance between Edmund and a young Calormene woman.

I absolutely adore Skandar, especially as Edmund, and while writing this he is 100% who I picture in the role. The story is very dramatic and very much a romance, so I hope you're intrigued enough to read it. Please leave some reviews, as I love feedback. Thanks!

After much deliberation with ibelonginnarnia, we have decided to close skandarfans. In three days we will be deleting the community entirely from LJ, so please go through and save what you would like before this time.

To be honest, we're growing older and Skandar just doesn't spark the same flame he used to. Sure, he's cute, but just cute. We don't have the time to run the community with our busy schedules and we don't have the motivation either. Furthermore, Skandar news has been so slow lately that there's almost no point in a community.

We've made some wonderful friends and great memories here, so we want to thank you all. Stay sweet darlings!! Feel free to comment our journals at anytime, we'll both still be on LJ. ♥

I just felt like posting this here because you guys are also responsible for my happiness today. xD Well, my birthday was on sunday, but I got this present today and I am still sooo happy about it. The Skandar Keynes Sweatshirt is the most amazing present I got! It was not that easy for me, though, because I'm a) from Germany and b) don't have a credit card. So my parents had to find some friends who had a credit card to get me this skantastic present!

3) Skandar recently went to track down the Grey Wolf in the Jura Mountains, Switzerland as part of his work-shadowing with IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature).

Teenager with Darwin link stars in Narnia films

ON SCREEN he’s the bad-boy traitor who sold out his siblings to the White Witch in The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.

In real life, Highbury schoolboy Skandar Keynes is a teenage Hollywood hearthrob and all-round over-achiever who counts Charles Darwin, economist John Maynard Keynes, politician Tony Benn and King Edward I among his ancestors.

Seventeen-year-old Skandar brought a touch of adventure to William Tyndale School in Islington on Wednesday when he presented a treasure chest to help children emulate some of his great-great-great grandfather Charles Darwin’s simpler experiments. Skandar, a former pupil of Thornhill Primary School in Barnsbury who now attends City of London School, is studying sciences at A-level. Speaking exclusively to the Tribune, he said: “I’m doing biology, chemistry, maths, further maths and history. When I was choosing I thought I enjoy sciences. They’re not something I can pick up on in the future like English literature.”
He is determined that filming – work on a third Narnia film starts in Australia in July – will not distract him from his studies. “It’s not too hard to focus on work,” he said. The visit to William Tyndale was arranged to coincide with the 200th anniversary of Darwin’s birth. He said: “My dad asked if I wanted to do this. I know a little about Darwin. I believe in everything he said. It wasn’t really stressed on me but I’ve been aware of it.”

The treasure chest, provided under a joint project between the Wellcome Trust and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, contains stickers, a plant press, a mini-seed bank and other resources to help children take part in Kew’s Great Plant Hunt. William Tyndale is the only school in Islington to receive a treasure chest.
Headteacher Tanya Watson said: “The children absolutely loved it. For them it was a terrific chance to have a well-known child actor and direct descendant of Darwin visit. “Anything that makes science a more creative experience for children has got to be good. It’s about opening children’s minds even more, keeping awareness of the world around them and not just seeing science as a Key Stage 2 Sats paper.” Angela McFarlane, from Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, said: “The project celebrates Darwin the scientist and shows children that, although he was a genius, the way he did science used simple techniques, looking carefully at what’s around him. “They can go out and do some of the things Darwin did. They can send the information they find to Kew. We’re going to be making the world’s largest collection of daisy seeds which our scientists at Kew will be experimenting on.”
