Rules:
  1. Game Day Posts: The community has a policy of a 'Universal Game Day Post'. The Moderator or one of the alternate moderators will make a post to the community on game day a couple of hours prior to the start of a Sharks game (pre-season, regular, or playoff). All discussions during the game, and the same night immediately after the game, should be done via comments to that post, rather than separate (new) posts to the community.

    Any other posts related to the game (events of, broadcaster comments, etc) made the night of the game will be deleted at a moderator's discretion possibly with no warning.

    After the game day, new games discussion posts would be allowed, but people are encouraged to keep it all on the original post.

    Previous Game Day Posts/discussions are available via this tagged thread

  2. If posting content quoting from news articles or photos taken by someone other than yourself, please make sure to credit the source, either by linking to the original article or proper citation. (This is a 'cover our asses' in case of plagiarism charges. And besides, it's common courtesy for all this free content available to us on the web).

  3. All posts must have comments enabled. If you want to share it with the community, then *share* it on the community--which means the opportunity for other community members to react and share feedback. If you don't want responses to it, then post it on your personal journal. Posts with comments disabled will be deleted with no notice.

  4. Please put ALL pictures, polls, and the majority of long content posts behind an <LJ-CUT> tag. (LJ FAQ: How do I use an LJ-CUT?)

    >> For rules #3 & #4, a warning comment will be made by a moderator to update the post according to the rules. If the post is not fixed within 24 hours after the warning, the post will be deleted.

  5. Cross-posts involving advertisements which may be construed as similar to unsolicited spam, for other communities or hockey resources, should be avoided, and may be deleted with no warning at the discretion of the moderators. They may be allowed to stand if there is non-advertising San Jose Sharks-related content in the post as well.

  6. Be nice to everyone.
