Any suggestions on places to visit in London? [22 Sep 2008|05:51pm] nina79 [ mood | bouncy ] I am going to London in November, and will be staying for a week there, at a friends place. She lives in Morden, and I just wonder if there are any good places to visit around there? And also in the rest of London? I've been thinking about going to St Paul's and take a ride with The London Eye anyway. :-) PS. Of Visas, jobs, living, and things of that sort [24 Oct 2007|10:35am] filmfemmenoir [ mood | confused ] Hi everyone! This is my first time posting here, but I've been sneaking about for quite some time. I would like some advice on: Obtaining a working visa, finding a flat, and general living. I spent some time in London last summer, so I know a little bit about the atmosphere/environment, but now I am seriously thinking of moving there. I found a job I'd like to apply for (of course the deadline is next Wednesday. YIKES!), but I need to know how I go about getting a Visa, how much they cost, and if I even need one. I looked about on the internet a bit but have found it all to be confusing.  What I think I know is:         I don't need a Visa if the job is 6 months or less (right?)--the job is exactly 6 months, but I'd like to stay longer     The employer actually obtains the work permit (right?)     I have to be tested for TB? Any help/advice would be lovely. Thanks! UPDATE:  I'm a US citizen, so I know there's a bit of red tape, I just need to know what it is. 38 comments|post comment
