It cannot escape your notice that the majority of slash or yaoi fiction is comprised of sex. I don’t particularly have a problem with sex in a story. I read it and enjoy as much as the next person. But I don’t write it. Nor do a number of other writers of slash fiction. And as a result, I think a lot of us tend to be brushed aside and lose our credibility as slash writers.
More than a few of us have received a comment or review for one story or another that suggested it might have been better had there been sex in it. As though a good plot and characters alone cannot sustain a story. Or perhaps even more so, that sex is the only thing worth reading in a slash story. I, for one, am inclined to disagree with this latter perception.
As far as reading slash fiction goes, I know I cannot be the only one who sometimes just wants a good, truly character- and/or plot-driven story. Who does not want to have to wade through lengthy, sometimes endless, scenes of sex to develop that character or advance that plot. Again, I stress, I am not opposed to sex in a story, but sometimes, I just want a simple read. Something modest and PG, just as enjoyable, but without all that explicit detail.

- Open to original slash and femmeslash, fanfiction--whatever. So long as it's slash in some capacity, we're good.
- May be drabbles, one shots, chaptered--there's no minimum or maximum here
- Keep the sexual content under PG-13*. Anything up to and including making out is acceptable. Sex may be implied. No explicit detail.
