When the earth receives the seed from the sky
Where the ancient fill the new born with the breath of life
I will run once more, before this body dies
I go running and feel my muscle burning in the light.

Simon Le Bon, "Follow in My Footsteps"

From the FAQ on Josephine Wall's website. If it'd been any longer, it'd have had me in tears of beauty.

Do budding artists ever ask you for advice?

What I always tell young artists is to “enjoy, enjoy just love every moment of creativity. Be true to yourself and if you feel drawn to any style of art, don’t be put off by negative remarks”. Artists should develop the confidence to follow their own instincts.

In case people aren't aware of this (which I wholly suspect they aren't, except, perhaps, if their names are Joelle and that one card gave it away ^-~), I adore Josephine Wall's artwork. It's absolutely stunning. *sighs dreamily*

Also, one day... When I can actually, you know, afford it. ^-~

Anyway, just thought I'd share. ^-^

"Een boek gaat over wat je er zelf uithaalt. Niet over wat de schrijver belangrijk vindt." ~ Thea Beckman

Or, in translation:
"A book is about what you get out of it yourself. Not about what the writer thinks is important." ~ Thea Beckman

Thought I'd repost that. ^-^

Ooh... Interesting quote I found. ^-^

I do not see a delegation
For the four-footed.
I see no seat for the eagles.

We forget and we consider
Ourselves superior.

But we are after all
A mere part of Creation.

And we must consider
To understand where we are.

And we stand somewhere between
The mountain and the Ant

Somewhere and only there
As part and parcel
Of the Creation.

'tis quite pretty actually. Here's the link.

And here is a website that lists the names and artists of all the pieces.

I was browsing around LJ to see if my head would clear any, and found this community.

People can post pictures to it that are peaceful and inspiring. Thought I'd share and spread some smiles.

I have located, at long last, the lyrics to the version of "All Through the Night" that I taught myself long, long ago when I was nine or so. Here are the lyrics, mostly so I don't lose them.

Snagged this quote from [info]hsp_women's layout, but I don't know who said it.

"Feelings are everywhere - be gentle."

I don't recall who wrote this. Don't think I ever knew. But it's been on my wall for years, and I thought I'd share. I admit to prettifying the poem to my own aesthetic likes as I can't be sure whether the format I have it in is it's intended format.

If anyone does know the author, please don't hesitate to let me know!

Got of my lazy behind and googled. And now I offer you an even more prettified version with author's name. Glad to have that. XD It's been adorning my wall authorless far too long.
