I have been waaaaay MIA from LJ and this community in general, so forgive me if this question has been asked before, but I have some questions about Origins.

I have been contemplating buying Origins for the PS2 since I do not own a PSP. I am leery though due to all the bad I've been hearing about the game. I have found it used semi-locally and I am considering picking it up for 20 or so odd dollars, so that in the event that it sucks, it was just 20.00. Some people love the game apparently, but most of the die-hard fans who kick it old school have been saying, "Stay away, Stay away!" and I am just curious as to what this community has to say about the game. I did not particularly care for Silent Hill 4, I thought the ending was very weak after having a pretty decent storyline, and then the whole, imitation Silent Hill covered in Silent Hill Secret Sauce thing, left a bad taste in my mouth. Had it been a standalone game as originally intended, I suppose it would have been fine, but it is not what I expected from a Silent Hill game. Because of this, I am trying to tread lightly of anything after The Room.

Without being too spoilerific, I would like to hear from all fans, but especially those that have been around before SH2 and followed the franchise, regarding the following:

Likes and dislikes about Origins?

Replayability?

Story?

Anything else you think I may need to know.

I really would like to hope that this game is good, or atleast worth the 20 dollars I would pay for it, despite what nay-sayers and Yahtzee Croshaw have to say (although, he was pretty hilarious doing it).

I would like to purchase the game tonight, so unleash your comments!
