What do you think of something like this (better, of course, this took me about ten minutes) as a new background/layout thinger for the Shy site?
We're redesigning (slowly) and we have an actual planned process now, but can't do anything, really, until after my finals. (about a month)
I'm going to work on a fanservicey picture for you guys this weekend (I am putting off a rather large assignment that is due tomorrow, but I don't really have time for much more than this entry), so that will be a sort-of update, but I figure it's fair to tell everyone we aren't dead and let you know what's going on.
1: We aren't dead. Srsly. I'm in school and that's pretty close but we aren't dead. I really want to work on page nine, I'm HOPING we can get something done over Thanksgiving break but knowing dP we'll have a project over that time, expect page nine at Christmas by latest. This summer the plan is to build up a backlog of comics so at the rate of one update a week, we might be able to continue updates during school even without drawing new pages. Oh, and every five pages (cover, 5, 10, 15, etc) will be in colour. :)
2: Ben got fired. I'll spare you messy details but that's how it is. It's a priority once we have time to get his stuff out of Shy, out of courtesy and just to make us more comfortable working on our story again.
3: In Ben's place, more or less, we have "hired" my roommate, Tom. He goes by "Shionyr" or "Luigi" online, and he will be helping with the d20 sourcebook we're working on, as well as doing all the backgrounds for the comic--he's a skilled artist and you'll notice the change right away. :)
4: Working on a new site design as you saw above. Shin is our Boo and sort of our mascot, so you will probably be seeing a lot of him.
5: It probably won't be until this summer but I've got the hang of 3D, finally. I'm going to figure out how to import meshes into The Sims 2 and make a full Shy set, because I think that's neat. I know a few people play, so...
6: Butt.
Just my plans (excluding step six), we'll see how it goes. :)

Just so you know this is her fault. :3 I spent a day trying to get sims that looked a LOT like the Shy characters. I used picture reference! Then I moved them into Pleasantview to fuck with the Sims2 "canon" characters.

So it's not a lot but we've gotten a basic world map of Teremo. There's the main continent where Shy takes place, "Dinosaur Land" of SMW, which is actually upside down so it attaches to Yoshi's Island, and then some generic other landmasses we can use if needed.
Thought you might like to see. :D I'm going to work on a "this is what they know" map later, and I'll post that here too if you like.
Oh, and I have a ton of new sim-pictures, and I'm thisclose to having 100% perfect Shy sims to upload for you.

Hi Luminance,
I understand with the wear of the mask, how it has to be adaptable. We have heard from one of the orders, and they are requesting the foam nose bridge and forehead piece that I suggested, so what I'll so is include those pieces with the assembly detached so you can attach them and remove them whenever you want using rubber cement, without compromising the interior look of the mask.
The straps will be made of a very soft neoprene as well, so they would be comfortable and form- fitting.
Everyone who is interested in the mask at this time can write separately for payment instructions and questions. Thanks again. We can work out further details as they arise.

Let's say that all orders paid for by June 10, for the July 20 completion date, will be given the discount. Since the orders are small, they will need to be paid in full in advance through paypal ttabbert AT facingcostumes DOT com.
As for the design of the mask, I understand you need them crafted in a very specific fashion and appreciate that you need the closures and straps custom made to suit your design. As for the inside of the mask, what kind of a texture or color do you need?

OKAY GUYS! Who's going to Otakon, and who wants a SHYGUY MASK? I've talked with Facing Costumes and it'll be around $120 a mask. They'll look ceramic but won't break, and will have a leather strap, fitted to be worn around your head, arm, neck, whatever.

What I am going to ask is that instead of giving me my mask for free, to instead split the "free" between everyone involved, so we all get a discounted price. I haven't emailed him back yet (doing that after this), but he is a great guy and chances are he will agree!
What I need from you is to know who is interested, and who definitely wants one, and I need to know ASAP!

I accidentally toned before resizing this time, so I resized, intending to see how bad the moire was, and to my surprise it looked WAY BETTER. Apparently we've hit onto the magic number that will resize screentones well! No more strobing screentones from now on, yay!
