WELCOME
Welcome to shoujoicontest, a weekly icon awards community focused on Shoujo anime and manga. Feel free to view the comm, but if you wish to participate you have to be a member. Every week new themes will be posted and community members will submit icons related to theme and then vote for the icons they like best. 1st place winning icons will be used that week as the community icon until the next week when we'll have a new winner. For the voting part there'll be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners as well as a Special Category and Mod's Choice. All the winners will recieve banners short after. This community was created and maintained by xxsecretive.



RULES
Only Members can participate 1. Each member my submit up to 3 icons per week. You may submit up to 2 icons per theme, but for the 3rd one you have to use a different one. NEW RULE If you've won 3 or more weeks consecutively, for the next week you can only enter one (1) icon. 2. All submitted icons MUST be focused only on Shoujo anime and/or manga. No other demographic will be accepted. Shoujo: is a term used in English to refer to manga aimed at a female audience between the ages of 10 and 18. The term is a transliteration of the Japanese "shoujo", literally Young girl. Here's what we will also accept in the contest: Magic Girl, Josei and some Yaoi titles, as well as everything published on shoujo magazines. These are some of the publishers for shoujo magazines: Shueisha, Kodansha, Shogakukan, Hakusensha, Akita Shoten, Kadokawa Shoten. Of course will accept as shoujo everything that's published by Shoujo Beat And if you still have doubts you can always visit The Wikipage and Google just to cross-check xD 3. Submitted icons must meet lj standards: 100x100, 40kb, .jpg,.png,.gif formats. 4. You can't vote for yourself. 5. You may not advertise your icons, or tell others to vote for you, let's keep things fair =). 6. All icons you submit must be made "fresh" for this icontest. Meaning you cannot cross-submit unless otherwise stated. 7. Do not steal the icons please, if you like one you may take it after the contest finishes only if the maker says so and you'll have to give proper credit. 8. Don't be rude, and blunt critique isn't needed, nor harsh comments, so please be nice =). If you decide to participate it'll mean that you have read all the rules and are therefore willing to abide by them. If you are breaking the rules in some way, I'll let you know and there'll be no biggie, unless I find out that you've been doing it repeatedly, then you won't be able to participate anymore =(.
Submissions
The new submission posts will be up every Saturday afternoon, remember all the icons you submit must be related to the themes posted. Deadline will be sometime around Saturday afternoon (3pm CST, give or take) when voting will be posted. Comments to the submission post are screened so just reply normally with your icon(s) in this format: Icon: URL: (the urlwhere your icon is being hosted, please make sure it works xD) http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b71/Kaoru_17_0/designs/1ava.png Themes: The themes your submitting under Character/Series: The character from the icon and the series it's from. Please submit your icons before the deadline, if you submit after I've posted the voting, your icon won't be added. If you'd like to suggest a theme, please be more than free to contact me on any post made on this comm 8D.
Voting
Voting will start on Saturday afternoon and end on Sunday afternoon. The members will reply to the screened post saying which 3 icons they like best and vote for the Special Category that'll be different each week. Mod's Choice will be picked my the mod~. As stated on the rules you may not vote for yourself and please don't leave any hard comments. Tiebreakers will decide just for that one place, the losing icon from the tiebreaker won't move down one place. I'll explain each Special Category when it's used on a voting post. Please don't vote biased on the character/series used, be fair and vote for the best icon overall or in it's case for SC. Voting is open to all members and non-members as well ^^.
