I could never paint or draw to save my life, which is why photography intrigues me so.  I still love to watch artists with a fair bit of envy, watch their process, and love the tools of their trade.

Rolleiflex 2.8C Xenotar, Kodak Portra 160VC d-crossed

This is the first shot from a test roll of Fuji Superia 400 in my new LOMO LC-A+. I’m comparing pix to comparable shots with my ‘90 LOMO LC-A and I’m pleasantly surprised by the similarity of the old Soviet lens and new Chinese lens.

I’m continually amazed by the results I get with a good professional film,  an old-school mechanical SLR like my Canon FTb and a 50mm prime lens. This was shot pretty close to wide-open, probably F/2.8 at the most…
