I'm sorry to have to do this to you, but after waiting for a poll to end over at [info]shikon_staff for months, it appears that many of the judges are gone, in deadlock on what to do for the fate of the community, or just not responding to emails.

It's my unfortunate duty to have to put a halt to this community. I will not delete the community in case someone wants to visit our archives, but no more contests or judging will be occuring, and this community will not go up for adoption.

As of this moment, the [info]shikon_awards are dead.

I suggest you visit other promising Inuyasha award contests like [info]fa_awards, [info]dokuga_contest, and the Inuyasha Fanguild.

I'm sorry to do this to you folks, but I must put this community on hiatus. We're still struggling to get the Spring 2008 judging period finished, and many of the judges are behind because of RL endeavors.

Until further notice, the Summer Nominations are extended until July 31st.

The judging period for the Spring 2008 finalists had to be extended to July 31st because of some busy schedules, so please be patient with us, and we'll announce your winners soon!

Spring 2008 Finalists

We're doing something a little different here. We're midway through our judging process, and it's time to announce the finalists for Spring 2008.

The judges have finished picking their finalist choices for the last part of the judging process. The first screening process is done to weed out fics of poor characterizations, grammar and spelling, composition and any eligibility dates and category definitions.

These stories made it through the first screen and are going on to the final round to compete for a chance to place for "Runner Up" and "Best" of its category.

Please stay tuned in mid-July for our final results for Spring of 2008. If ou have any questions please refer to our rules and FAQs first before contacting me. Thanks!

Our Summer judging session starts as soon as the nominations end for this current round.

We definitily in need of some reliable and impartial judges during that time.

The Summer 2008 judging session begins August 1st and ends October 31st. If you think you meet the requirements and are available within those dates please fill out our judges applicatoin HERE at the screened post and one of the mods will get back to you.

The Shikon Awards have officially opened the Summer 2008 nominations!

Please start bringing in your nominations! All nominations are due July 15th, 2008. Please check the rules for the categories as well as the FAQs.

Other Group news:

These authors do not wish to be nominated at the Shikon Awards. Please respect their requests. Any attempts to nominate them will be deleted. If you are an author yourself and wish to be left out of the nominations as well, please comment to this post and I'll add you to the list.
