Rating/Warnings: PG-13.
Genre: Mystery, Tragedy.
Word Count: 3,038
Notes: Sorry for the delay! I kept forgetting to post it here, haha. Thank you to the wonderfulfantulousamazing Sandra for beta-ing and dealing with my crappy first drafts, hee. ♥ This chapter is focused on Rita. (I lied about Riley. Oops. He's next chapter, I promise.)
Previous Chapter: Chapter Four.

Summary: In his life, Michael Mackin never made much of an impact. With his death, he changes everything. After his murder, a group of five friends are left - Asher, Miranda, Rita, Aaron, and Riley. The five try to cope with the events that brought them all to that night as they grow paranoid that someone in their group might have killed Michael.

Chapter Summary: A shadow passes over the window and Rita stiffens. Immediately, all kinds of CSI: Richardson images are flitting through her mind: Guy with a knife, guy with a gun, guy with a big fork and a salt shaker… She tries to make her movements casual as she sets her photo book on the table and reaches down under the couch. Her hand curls around the smooth, round grip of a metal baseball bat.

Can we talk, or are you going to try to bludgeon me again? )

A/N: Drop a comment if you liked, or didn't. =) Next chapter is the actual Riley chapter.

Previous Chapter: Chapter Three.

Chapter Summary: At lunch, there’s an empty spot at our table. They all try to cover it up by throwing their books in the empty space, but the fact that I’m not there is glaringly obvious. Though no one is able to ignore it, none of them mention it out loud—they’re all convinced that they’re the only one who notices.

Does this look edible to you? )

A/N: Next chapter is Riley's. <3 Leave a comment and let me know what you think! I'd love to hear some theories on who the killer is.

Next Chapter: Chapter Five.

Notes: Thank you Sandra for beta-ing this, meep. <3 So, here is my Asher chapter, which was kind of hard to write because Asher does not like me very much. (Hmm, I wonder why that could be…)
Previous Chapter: Chapter Two.

Chapter Summary: Asher’s mom’s mini-van starts sputtering after about an hour and Asher slams an open palm against the steering wheel, thinking that if he had his truck, then he could drive all the way to Memphis if he wanted to. Two more months and I’ll have the money, he thinks.

Asher's never really been the type to lie to himself. )

A/N: Thanks for reading! Any feedback would be loved. Next chapter is Aaron. <3

Chapter Summary: A week after the funeral, Miranda stands in front of a two-story brick house, silent and staring. I’ll just wait until the end of the song, she thinks. It’s the third time she’s bargained with herself.

The definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. )

Previous Chapter: Prologue.

Chapter Summary: Riley repositions himself, now leaning forward with both arms resting on the table, hands clasped together. “I have a theory,” he says. He pointedly ignores the warning look that Asher sends his way. He pauses, giving the others time to ask him about his theory, and when no one does, he takes a deep breath. “I think it was one of us.”

Isn’t it kind of sick that everyone wore the same clothes to the funeral that they wore to the dance? )

A/N: The end. Next chapter follows Miranda. Thank you for reading! Let me know if there’s anything that I can change or fix to make this better. =)

Fandom: Original.
Rating/Warnings: This chapter: Maybe PG-15. It's a little gory.
Genre: Mystery, Tragedy.
Word Count: 4,643
Notes: Eek. So, this is my NaNoWriMo fic, spiffied up and ready to post. I'm going to try and get a chapter up every two weeks or so. This was beta'd by Miss Amazing Beta, aka the lovely-amazing-wonderful [info]shecriesx. Thanks bb. ♥

Summary: Michael Mackin is an eighteen-year-old guy with decent grades, good friends, a great girlfriend, and a normal family. Nothing really happened in his life to set him apart from anyone, but with his death, he changes everything.

After his murder, a group of five friends are left - Asher, Miranda, Rita, Aaron, and Riley. The five try to cope with the events that brought them all to that night as they grow paranoid that someone in their group might have killed Michael.

Chapter Summary: Leaning against one of the cop cars, Asher thinks that he has not been properly prepared for the situation before him. After all, he’d signed up to play sidekick, and no sidekick expects the hero to be killed off in the prologue.

I'm not morbid. I'm a realist. There's a difference. )

A/N: There goes the prologue! I'm very excited about this, so I would love it if y'all would give me any feedback that you can - things you like, things you don't like, lines that don't feel right, your thoughts on the characters - anything would help me. I would really like to get this as perfect as I can before I send it in to createspace to get my free proof copy. <3 Thank you for reading!

Summary: Dean circa WIAWSNB. The white line goes on and on, providing all of the monotony he needs to hear her voice in his head over and over, saying, “We’re a family again. Let’s go home.”
Notes: This is for [info]tangomaureen83, because she stumped me on a fic meme and earned herself a “drabble”, which turned into a longer one-shot.
Disclaimer: I don’t own it. I wish that I did, but I don’t. All dialogue comes from the episode “What is and What Should Never Be”.

Vaguely, Dean wonders if this is what it had been like for Sam when Jess died. )

Disclaimer: I don’t own it. Unfortunately, that is Kripke’s playground, and I was not invited to play.

Summary:  Seven teenagers venture into the deep places of horror, where dark is no more an enemy than light, the aftermath of which finds the survivors broken and struggling to cope with the memories of their night in the Sloan Mill Sanatorium.

Chapter Summary: But you’re crazy if you think that that will make me back down. Oh no, there is a fact that has to be proven to Converse Boy. That fact? Paige Lancaster is hardcore, and no, will not take your crap. Backing down now will prove the opposite, and that is not happening.

Chapter Summary: “Okay. For two seconds, can you just refocus on the other issue here?" She bends her tiny body toward me. "I just want to be clear—tonight, you know what you are?" There's no time to answer. "You're my human-shield." She nods at my blank look. "Uh-huh. But I’m going to go with shocked. He swears loudly. “No, I’m not…jeez, Kel, no.” He sits up completely and tugs a hand through his messy hair. “You’re so…frigging oblivious.”

Word Count: 2,024

Summary:  Seven teenagers venture into the deep places of horror, where dark is no more an enemy than light, the aftermath of which finds the survivors broken and struggling to cope with the memories of their night in the Sloan Mill Sanatorium.

Chapter Summary: “All kinds of people died when it was a hospital—and then when it was a nuthouse, the patients got slapped around, so there’s all kinds of crazy, freaked ghosts out for revenge. And a couple people who went to the fourth floor on the tours never came back.” He uses his best Twilight-zone voice, which is about as terrifying as a three-year-old holding a flashlight under his chin. Suddenly, his face brightens and his tone goes back to normal. “And I think we should go.”
