sg_workshop community.
This community is intended to provide writers and readers with a place to talk about writing techniques, tips, and tricks, and to respond to and critique Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis stories from its members.
Basics:
1. Other than the introductory admin posts, posts in this community are viewable by members only. (Please note: clicking the little person "monitor" icon only allows you to view the public posts of the community on your flist. To join, you need to click the text link up top that says, "to join the community, click here.")
(ETA: If I haven't approved your request to join sg_workshop within a few days of your sending it, something's probably slipped through the cracks. Please drop me a line at minnow1212 (AT) livejournal.com to alert me to the fact that your membership's pending.)
2. Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome to join: active writers in the SG1/SGA fandom, readers, writers from another fandom who read in the SG-verse…you get the idea.
3. The community is open to discussion of gen, het, and slash.
4. There are four sorts of posts in this community:
--Weekly Nuts and Bolts posts, where we discuss general writing techniques about a specific topic. See this post for discussion guidelines.
--Review posts where we review specific SG/SGA stories by members of the community, either at their own suggestion or at the suggestion of another member who first seeks out the permission of the author. See this post) for discussion guidelines.
--Requests for beta readers.
--Weekly In-Depth Feature posts, where a community member posts an essay about a writing topic of her choice or does a DVD commentary for one of her stories. See this post for guidelines.
