AboutWelcome to the Stargate SG-1 Episode Challenge. The challenge in this community is to make an icon that either best represents an episode or captures a lesser-focused-on, unique part of the episode.

nomorefrostbite was pondering the idea of making an icon challenge community one dark night. She remembered seeing a fabulous buffyverse challenge community by the name of btvs_episodic once...she roped in her dear friend and partner in crime alightbulbsun and thus, Stargate Episodic was born. teddibear currently co-mods the challenge along with nomorefrostbite :)
Rules
1. Your icon can be animated, textless, covered in text, whatever you want, as long as all the images come ONLY from the week's episode assignment. Your icon must also be within LJ standards: 100x100 or less, 40kb or less.
2. The icon may be submitted in one of two categories:
Best Representative: The icon that captures the essence of the assigned episode.
Most Original: The icon that captures a unique point of the assigned episode.
3. There are three categories all icons automatically enter.
Supreme Commander: The overall best icon--it combines elements of art, text, and beauty and is considered the best of the week's batch.
Mod's Choice: Any icon that has not won in another category is eligible for this award. The mods will pick a single icon for this award.
Tok'ra Award: This is a new category of award for the icon with Most Promise. This means that the Mods will choose one icon per week that shows the most promising future. This icon doesn't have to be the belle of the ball or the best thing since sliced bread, but when you look at it you think "wow, with a little extra work that could have been great." This may just be the award every underdog has been waiting for!
Icons can only win in one category per challenge.
4. You can enter both main categories but with only one icon in each.
5. Only the mods may post entries. Your icon must be posted in a comment to the corresponding entry for the week's contest. You must include the icon and URL to be a qualifier, and you must post your icon whilst logged in as your LJ username.

5. Please be respectful of the actors and of other members, and don't use crude or deflammatory text in icons. Just use common sense.
6. Don't advertise your icon anywhere or coerce people into voting for you. Let's keep things Fun & Fair folks!
Timeframe
1. Wednesday: A new challenge is posted.
2. Saturday: A poll for next week's episode [4 choices] is posted.
3. Tuesday (10pm eastern): All submissions are due. Voting poll will be posted.
4. Thurs/Friday: Winners will be posted.
5. It starts all over again!
*PLEASE NOTE (January 03, 2006) - Challenges will run for two weeks, and will likely not stay exactly on par with the timetable noted about! So keep your ear to the ground folks.*

--Any icons that have been recycled will automatically be disqualified. This includes blanks.
--Do not share your icons until the contest is over. If your icon is shared, it is automatically disqualified. You will have another chance to enter for the week, but if you are disqualified twice in a week you will have no more chances to enter.
