Dentist recommendations in the East Bay?
I have a couple cavities that I think I should get taken care of sooner than later. But. I -hate- the dentist. Irrationally. So I need a very very patient, kind, gentle dentist, whose willing to work with me, so I don't bite them. Recommendations? East Bay (Dublin/Pleasanton specifically) preferred, but I'm willing to drive up to an hour for the right person. Must take insurance. |

are you keeping track of movies you watched?
It's not about a local event, although questions feels to me relevant to the most advanced and computer literate audience in the world — people living in the Bay Area: Do you keep track of the movies you watched (I mean besides the netflix queue which you could request to be sent to your email), going to watch or own copies in dvd/files/whatever else format? Did you ever find yourself in the situation that the movie you just started watching isn't really new for you — it's something you already saw, but forgot the title since then? I do forget the titles often. Friends of mine created as a side project a list service to keep track of these things, and looking for real-world people's experience to figure out where to move their site next. Not showing the name of their service here (trying to avoid any advertising), but they'd really appreciate your answers to a short questionarie. Please, help if you can. |

Grass-fed local beef in/near Berkeley?
Hi all, I was hoping you could provide me with markets/vendors in Berkeley that have sustainable grass-fed beef. I live in the gourmet ghetto, but within walking distance to Monterey Market. I don't eat much meat, which means that I don't mind paying to keep that little bit of steak that I do eat sustainable. If the market also has real (ala Polyface in Omnivore's Dilemma) free range chicken as well, that would be fantastic. Thanks a lot! |

Gynecologist references
I'm looking for a local gynecologist and the several referrals from friends aren't accepting new patients. Palo Alto Medical Foundation lists a Dr. Nicole Wilcox as possibly available. If anyone has a reference for doctors they like in the South Bay (Santa Clara County area), I'd love to hear from you! Thanks in advance! |

Hi I just started my life in the Bay Area and do not know this area very well yet. Could you recommend me a Russian orthodox church service to sanctify my car against car accidents, thieves and shortage of gasoline? This service is very popular in Moscow but I can not find any respected Sanctifier on a road here in Silicon Valley |

help me find a fuzzy hat with ears!
I was in rainbow last week with my kid and they had these awesome hats...fuzzy, animal print, with ears up on top and string ties near the chin with pom poms on them. Well, my kid wanted one, I told her no, and went back today to get her one for her birthday...which is today. Of course they are all gone!! So I'm trying to figure out where to go to ge tone for her...I'd love to be able to give it to her today but can wait until tomorrow if I absolutely HAVE to... I work in the financial district, so near here would be easiest but I am willing to travel if I ahve to. thanks!! |

Does anyone by any chance have an old hubcap/wheel cover (or better yet two) for any car that they do not need and are willing to donate for a halloween costume? Or does anyone know where I could look/ask? Thanks! |

Halloween Costumes
Does anyone know of any really good stores for costumes in the city or around the bay area (I'm in Palo Alto, so around here is even better)? I'm looking for a place that isn't the typical really cheap fabric costumes. Thanks! p.s. Anywhere with period costume is a PLUS |

Free Piano Keyboard
For anyone is in the Pleasanton area (or really determined to drive), I'm giving away an Casio WK-100 keyboard with a stand to put it on. The only catch is that you have to pick it up yourself during a weekend or Wednesday or any evening during the week. The keyboard is old but it works. There's nothing wrong with it. Speakers work. Sounds work. It has like over 200 sounds, if I remember correctly. Great for a beginner to start learning and have something to practice on without spending 200 bucks. I haven't really been using it and looking to clear the clutter in my room. If interested, please let me know! Thanks. |

i need a place to live
Hey everyone! Well I'm planning on moving to Santa Rosa or near it the beginning of January. I have my job situation settled and everything I just need to find a cheap place to live. I'm looking to rent a room or find roommates and rent an apartment with someone. I'm looking for something that is preferably less than $500 or $600/month because I still have to pay for school and such. If you know of anyone or you have a room available or you're looking for a roommate please let me know as soon as possible. I need to know by November so I can put my transfer in and I don't want to do that yet unless I know I have a place to live. x-posted to santarosa_ca Current Music: Paramore - Asleep | Powered by Last.fm |
