Muni arrival times, hidden routes
Nextbus and Muni have been holding out on us. Get a complete listing of electric routes, including cable cars:

1-California
3-Jackson
4-Sutter
5-Fulton
6-Parnassus
7-Haight
14-Mission
21-Hayes
22-Fillmore
24-Divisadero
30-Stockton
31-Balboa
33-Stanyan
41-Union
45-Union/Stockton
49-Van Ness/Mission
59-Powell-Mason Cable Car
60-Powell-Hyde Cable Car
61-California Cable Car
F-Market & Wharves
J-Church
K-Ingleside
L-Taraval
M-Ocean View
N-Judah
S-Castro Shuttle

Note that the cell phone times seem to have some issues when I tried it. At least with the 31, some stops were missing.

Found on this Rescue Muni post (yahoo account required, bleh). Also, if you call up Muni's arrival time service and ask why this isn't on the main Nextbus page like I did, you'll get a nasty "Talk to Mr. Ford" type of reply. (call 511, then say "Muni", then "Operator", but usually they are friendly. Bad day at work?)

Remember: all lines are tracked. You can call 511 and say "Muni" then "operator" for the next bus arrival time. Of course, there is no 24/7 service line. My understanding is that *all lines* are NextBus ready. Why the delay? Wouldn't we all like to know!

55,000 people board the 38 dGeary daily, so why this line didn't come first, I don't know. Maybe they are waiting for BRT? Maybe they are waiting for an election year? Maybe they all need to be fired?

i honestly am not affected by the lack of that info I only use the 38 to go to the movies or return presents... the only bus that i care about is the 24[ever]

I take the 31 typically, which seems to be infrequently packed and at night doesn't stop at every stop. I've gotten from the TL to NOPA and vice versa 10 minutes each way.

Still, it would be nice to be able to look up diesel line and know that "hey, maybe walking won't be faster?"

I think the 38 is one of the few lines in the city that is as packed at 1am as it is at 5pm. C'mon, 38 NextBus!!

I think it is about time that everyone who wants a 38/L Nextbus listing to complain. We've had NB for a long time now, and still it's the same handful of lines.

Where can we start?
Lillian Chan, Chief Operating Officer (Nextbus)
Nathaniel P. Ford, Sr. (MTA)
Gavin Newsom (SF Mayor)

Anyone else you can think of? Any city sups?

The bus I use most often that isn't here is the 71. I waited for one of those for over half an hour last night. And it wasn't like I was out there at 11pm or something - no, it was 8:30.

GRRRRRRRRRR.

You know who to complain to about the 71/L, another very busy route, not being on Nexbus. If Muni's operators ran 24/7, you could have at least called 511 to see what the holdup was, but as it is, after 8pm you are basically screwed if something happens to your bus (typically a no-show driver or a broken bus).
