A woman sleeps with two different men. She gets pregnant and has the child. It is later discovered that the child is a chimera of the two eggs fertilized by the two different men. (yes it's possible)

Should she legally be allowed to sue both men for child support or just one? Should they both pay the same ammount? Or one pays more than the other? Should they both pay the full amount or split a full amount between the two?

Assuming she is not dating either of them, but knows them both very well.

Do you feel reproduction should be a right or a privilege?

Should someone's choice to have offspring be taken away if they prove unworthy?

Should someone gain a license in order to be allowed to have children?

What criteria would you base this on?

Do you believe anyone should be allowed to have children no matter what if they so choose? Why? Why not?

I found this while browsing around. I often like to see both sides of the argument before coming to conclusions, and well, I like this guy's point of view. He brings up some interesting points:

...One of his observations in particular struck me. He notes that many young men who graduated from University School told him, while later attending co-ed universities, that their best friends were women. The experience of being deprived of women had strengthened their appreciation of the opposite sex. They recognized, contrary to much of the rhetoric in co-ed schools, that gender differences run deep and defy ultimate explanation. Young men at all-male schools often act like old-fashioned gentlemen around young women. Rather than take women for granted, they assume there is a lot to learn about women. Sensitivity to gender differences enables rich and full friendships. Friendships, after all, are based on an appreciation of what others give us that we cannot give to ourselves...

For those afraid of links )

1)What do you feel is the importance of single sex education?

Personally I think it is a great idea. It will ensure the girls and boys will get the resources they need.

I had a teacher once suggest co-ed schools with single sex classes for the subjects where there seems to be a huge achievement and behavioral gap, and shared classes where males and females tend to achieve equally in. Males tend to act up in class to get female attention and females tend to "dumb" themselves down as to not intimidate the boys or hurt their egos. Also the way some programs are designed don't address male-dominate or female-dominate learning styles. They are usually skewed one way or another. Another interesting study showed that females and males respond to certain types of teaching styles, such as an more straight forward and domineering teacher, versus a quiet and less engaging teacher. Though that would be idealistic as it would be somewhat difficult to train teachers to change their personalities to meet the needs of their students.

2) Do you feel the standard co-ed system is flawed? If so, suggest a way to make co-ed education work.

3)Is the issue here deeper than simply gender? Do you feel the co-ed system is failing due to the lack of funding for clubs and activities?

4)Would you ever consider going to a single sex school? Or sending your kids there?

5) Would changing everything to single sex be a step forward or a step back? Why?

Your kid wants to go on birth control.

What age is too young in your opinion to allow you daughter to go on birth control?
What age is too young for certain types of birth control?
Would this situation make you uncomfortable?

How would you feel if your son came up to you asking for a condom? or 30?
Say there were many birth control options for males.
What age is too young for your song to be allowed on birth control?
Would there be certain types you would not allow (make up a few for examples).
Would it make you equally uncomfortable if your son came up to you as your daughter?

Would you be proud or disappointed that your kid came to you?

When many people who speak English have sex, it is safe to assume most of them scream in the affirmative or speak out towards a deity of some kind.

Do you think we naturally scream out "YES!", "OH GOD", "FUCK ME -insert insulting name-" or a combination of them all is socialized or just comes to us naturally during sex (or socialized on an unconscious level)?

Do you think our sexual language is a hint of our personalities? Of how we view sex?

What of people who say nothing at all during sex?

Do women scream/moan "OH YES" more and men scream/moan "OH YEAH" more?

How important is verbal language during intercourse for you? In a partner?

Using sex for commercials?

Feb. 27th, 2007 | 01:33 pm

So there is a new commercial out there about Rembrandt Toothpaste. In this commercial, two people are making out, the camera is tight up to their mouthes, and the tag is something like "So your mouth is ready."

Now, I'm all for expression, however, I was offended by this. To take something so intimate and turn it into a commercial was just too much for me. Then I questioned if I was really okay with how liberal we have become with TV.

When I was younger (I'm only 18), you could not see people swearing on TV at all really. Now I see people saying damn, hell, ass, people making out, KY ads with flashes of people in intimate positions, perfume ads all about tasting the forbidden fruit of sex (the Britney Spears Perfume), and I wonder what words children still get in trouble for saying. I remember being in Elementary school and saying "This sucks" and getting in trouble. And I wonder if they're dealing with kids saying damn, hell, ass, the milder forms of swearing (that really aren't swearing anymore). I swear allllll the time and I don't want to censor myself, however, I don't know if the path we're on with our media is a good idea.

What does everybody else thing?

70% of visits to porn sites are made between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

5.3 billion: estimated number of dollars companies lost to recreational web surfing during business hours.

260 million web pages were dedicated to porn in 2003 (from only 14 million in 1998)

68 million porn requests made daily in search engines.

25% of all daily searches made are for porn related material.

33% of visitors to porn sites are women.

For debate:

Does porn appears to be a major part of a culture?

Some studies have shown creativity and productivity increases after an individual imagines a hot date. Men who look at porn are less likely to cheat.

Would you ever consider porn for therapeutic purposes?
Would society benefit from such a thing?
Is this an indicator that we look at too much porn?
We are under stimulated?
Does this indicate we are over sexed? Under sexed?
Is society addicted to sex? Addicted to porn?

Girl feels sports team was sexist

At Carleton University a girl joined an all boy intramural flag football team and left during the fourth game because no one passed her the ball so far. She feels this is because the team was sexist and never took her seriously.

A response from a male on the team said she never had the ball because she couldn't run as fast as the other team mates. Mentioned the entire team should not be held accountable due to nature.

In response, Carleton changed the name of the sport to just Flag foot ball, instead of men's flag football and aim to have the sport to have a 50/50 split of males and females.

Woman who lied to get IVF at 67 seeks a younger husband to help with twins
Thomas Catan in Cordoba
# Oldest mother sold home to raise funds
# It couldn't happen here, says watchdog

Carmela Bousada with Pau, left, and Christian. "I'm a mum who's a bit older. It's no big deal" (News of the World)

Exhausted and short of money, the world’s oldest mother is seeking a younger husband to be a father to her twins.

In her first interview since giving birth last month, Carmela Bousada, a 67-year-old Spaniard, said that she had sold her house in Andalucia to raise the £30,000 to pay for fertility treatment at a California clinic, where she lied about her age. The clinic’s age limit is 55.

The case has provoked an angry debate in Spain, where conservatives bemoan the decline of the traditional family and the waning influence of the Roman Catholic Church. Many have asked who will care for the twin boys when Ms Bousada becomes too elderly.

Ms Bousada, a retired shop worker, had lived with her own mother all her life until her mother died in 2005, aged 101. She is said to have decided to get in-vitro fertilisation after seeing magazine articles about the success of increasingly elderly women in getting pregnant.

Ms Bousada told the News of the World: “I think everyone should become a mother at the right time for them. Maybe things shouldn’t have been done in the way they were done but that was the only way to achieve the thing I had always dreamt of.

“I would have loved to have got pregnant with a man by my side but it didn’t work out that way. Now I’ve got to look for a dad for the kids. I’d like to meet someone a bit younger than me. They’d have to like the children, of course.”

The Pacific Fertility Centre in Los Angeles confirmed that it had treated Ms Bousada, but had not known her true age. It added that the clinic’s procedures would have required her to show a passport.

Ms Bousada admitted that she was “exhausted” from caring for the two babies, feeling her age for the first time. “Christian was awake the whole time last night,” she said. “The night before it was Pau. If it’s not one, it’s the other.”

She plans to move from Cádiz to Barcelona, where she gave birth. Friends fear that she will suffer without the help of her sister-in-law, who has been by her side since the births.

The newspaper reported that she expects to survive on her state pension of about £100 a week. However, it seemed likely that the newspaper had paid her a substantial amount of money for its exclusive. She had previously declined to speak to reporters.

“I’m sure I’ll be able to cope,” she said. “When they begin toddling I’ll get one of those playpens and put them in there. I might put them in a nursery while I get some rest.

“My mum lived to be 101 and there’s no reason why I shouldn’t. I might have to have surgery to keep my looks. But for now if I have any spare money I’ll spend it on the boys. Look, I’m a mum who’s a bit older. It’s no big deal.”

A spokeswoman for the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority, which regulates IVF treatments in the UK, said: “Every clinic in the UK has to take account of the welfare of the child, and one of the main factors they have to consider is the age of the mother and father. Although legally there is no upper age limit for receiving IVF, the common attitude is that treatment will be granted only at an age where a woman could otherwise conceive naturally.

“Of the 97 registered fertility clinics in Britain, the vast majority impose a maximum age limit of 45. Only a few extend that to 50 in rare cases, so a woman much older than that would have to lie about her age to such an extent that it probably could not happen here.”

In a way I think this is a bad idea, in another way I think this is a good idea. It opens the doors to acceptance of poly relationships and of homosexuality. Yet, I think a lot of people would be offended by saying marriage is about ownership, and there is no love involved. Not to mention the amount of religious people it will piss off. I also think that it is somewhat sexist of them to assume that promising six hour work days will encourage men to vote for the.
