So, I posted a pic of the sundress I made my friend Crickie (Of 6'3, 'nothing that fits me is cute' fame)last week,
And promised a few pics of her IN the dress. I also thought it would be pretinent to mention something that came up in the thread, which is that this pattern was a great find for me, but may not work on everyone because it has very WIDE shoulders. Perfect for Crickie, but not for everyone

Fit perfectly, yay!

What a great dress! I love sewing dresses... I sewed my first dress the other week, and it was so simple! This looks great on her! You did an awesome job!

We joke that we have 'trade skills'. She is a professional children's photographer...so she photographs my kiddos for free, and I make her clothes that fit ;)

I LOVE IT! It looks fantastic on her.
What pattern did you use? I have silly wide shoulders and have trouble getting things to fit properly... I'd love to make this for myself... =)

LOL! I THOUGHT that looked familiar - I just picked that pattern up Thursday! Now I'm even more excited, 'cause your friend looks gorgeous in your version! I hope I do half as good a job as you did!

This pattern is very easy to use! I was quite pleased with it :) I would recommend top stitching your seams, though, even though it doesn't say that.

I love it, too! I'm going to make one for myself, but a very different fabric and take in the bodice quite a bit, as I have much narrower shoulders ;)

I think I have that pattern in my files... thanks for the tip on the wide shoulders.

Crickie looks great in it. (And it looks great on her.) Well done! *opera applause*

Wow, they changed the packaging on this pattern. I picked up this same pattern in Janury for a semi formal function. I did hte dress in a brown taffeta with a tan velvety ribbon. I loved making it, and I loved hte way it fit. Even the wide shoulders didn't look bad. I'm a plus sized girl, have had some kids, and this dress was even complimentary to the left overs from pregnancy and my hips. I also wore a corset underneath, but still.
It does look fantastic. I plan on making myself more of this same dress in different fabrics as a sundress instead of a dressy dress.
