...................

THE BASICS
Name: Jaenelle
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Current Occupation: Graduate student! ...in China. XD (No, I am not Chinese. I'm actually American, Japanese/Caucasian mixed. Weird, yes? Yes.)

...................

THE PERSONAL
Likes: Reading books (for fiction, mainly either historical or fantasy, for non-fiction mainly Eastern philosophy), writing, good conversation both deep and filled with laughter, a good cup of tea, being outside (especially near the ocean or other bodies of water), playing sports (but again, only really water sports like competitive swimming or water polo), shopping, learning languages, stargazing, traveling, praying at temples, video games, martial arts like Taijiquan/Tai Chi Quan
Dislikes: Spiders and other insects, mathematics, most vegetables, conflict, unnecessary violence and war, being taken advantage of, misdirected anger, cold weather

Strengths: Empathic, determined, optimistic, patient, caring, kind, compassionate, self-sacrificing (not always a good thing!), very spiritual, forgiving, good at listening as well as good at advice, well-read/learned, philosophical, honest to almost a fault, pure-hearted, gentle
Weaknesses: Stubborn, self-sacrificing (again, not always a good thing), can be too aloof/reserved, avoidant, a bit on the naive side in spite of being well-learned and well-traveled, too sensitive, not remotely pleasant when crossed (but will avoid it for as long as possible), perhaps too slow to anger, a bit of a doormat, caring so much for others I forget myself, over-worrying about others, pretty much unable to say "no"

Pet Peeves: People who talk in class while the professor is speaking (for me anyway, this is COLLEGE; didn't you learn how to pass notes in high school?), people who refuse to learn from their mistakes because it's "too hard" to change, rudeness in general, being shoved when trying to get on/off a bus or train, being touched (if... I don't know someone, as friendly and nice as I am, I'm not welcoming in the physical touch department if I don't know you!), lies, being manipulated
Dreams & Ambitions: To become a professor at a university and guide students, to make those I love proud

Personality in 5 words or less: Altrusitic, compassionate, inquisitive, aloof, spiritual

...................

FAVORITES
Favorite Season: Summer! I love the sunlight and being able to swim outdoors
Favorite Element: Water. I'm very much a water person.

...................

THIS OR THAT
Mature or Immature: I'm mostly mature, but I have my childish moments. Usually it's only around my very close friends, however!
Leader or Follower: I'm a leader, but I don't mean to be. I guess I'm just the one who usually comes up with ideas, and I tend to be the one who takes care of others because it's what I enjoy doing. I always like to help and make sure everyone's alright
Optimistic or Pessimistic: I'm a practical optimist. I am an idealist but I know when to act in an idealistic manner and when to go about an idealistic thought logically to make it happen.
Impulsive or Cautious: I'd say a little bit of both. It depends on what it is. If it's something that isn't really that drastically important, like let's say I suddenly got a bunch of money for Christmas, I'd run out and buy something I've always wanted. But when it comes to very important things, I will sit back and think it through (and discuss it with my friends to double-check that I'm making the right decision)
Outgoing or Shy: I'm very shy (more like reserved? I don't actually always want to talk to people, though I am friendly and kind), but again, with the right kind of friends? I can be very perky and hyper. In most situations, though, I won't be the first one to say hi, but I'm always polite and friendly once talked to.
Hardworking or Laid-back: I'm a bit of both. I despise things I "have" to do, but if it's something I feel passionately about, I will work my utmost at it.
Hyper, Calm, or somewhere in-between: Generally I'm very calm. Around my very hyper friends, I can be just as hyper, but generally I'm calm.
Modest or Bold: I'm very modest, but I'll do what needs to be done.
Lover or Fighter: Very much so a lover; I'm more of a pacifist in spite of my fascination for things like martial arts, but if it involves who and what I love or a cause I strongly believe in, I will fight to the death. It just doesn't always have to be violent.

SITUATIONS
You really don't like someone and find them in a heap of trouble. Would you ignore their pleas for help or give a helping hand?: I'd help them, instantly. I don't ever leave anyone behind.

When the going gets tough, do you stay your ground by yourself, call for help, or run away?: I'd stand my ground and if there are people around who I'd feel comfortable calling on, I'll call on them for help. I won't ever run away, even if I really, really want to (and being that I can be avoidant, there's definitely times I want to!).

Someone just cut in front of you in the store, when you've already been waiting 10 minutes. What do you do?: ...this happens ALL THE TIME in China. Before I moved here, I would just put up with it. In China, however, if you don't just cut in front of them back or say something, more people will cut in front of you. I hate it and it makes me feel like a horrible person, but I have to move here, whether I like it or no.

FF VERSE; SHIN-RA is throwing a 'We didn't end up ending the World' Party and sent you a pretty invitation. You go to the party and you: (ie. dance, karaoke, sit in the corner, sulk) I think I would stick with the people I know, maybe talk to a few people if I felt I could, and if my friends were dancing, I would dance. I'd probably sing either way, however.

FF VERSE; You're battling with your friends, would you rather be attacking, defending, or supporting? Defending/supporting, both at once. I'd probably be more of a supporter because I'm more of yield-in-defense kind of person, but I would definitely defend and grit my teeth if I had to.

FF VERSE; One of your friends got hurt really bad. You can continue on your mission - but it would mean leaving your friend behind and taking on the next boss with less power. Do you go back to the start to get your friend healed (rest point) or do you keep going on, and try to make it without him/her? I would heal them. Straight up. I couldn't ever leave anyone behind!

...................

INSPIRATIONAL
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?: I'd be more assertive. I've gotten better at it over the years, but I still have difficulty in saying no to people and doing what's best for myself. I can't stay on the sidelines forever and help everyone BUT myself.

Do you hold onto everything in the past, or do you try to move on and learn from your mistakes?: I definitely try to move on and learn from my mistakes. I get really hard on myself if I realise I've slipped back into a familiar bad pattern, however.

Are there any traits you've witnessed before in someone that you wish you could have?: The ability to not care what other people think of me. One of my friends said to me once, "The only thing I live by is this: I want to be the one person in life who never lets me down. Everyone's gonna let you down at least once. There's nothing you can do about it. But I can do something about not letting myself down." I've always had difficulty living for myself. It's something I'm working on.

...................

Is there any character that you strongly would disagree with being voted as?: ...to be honest, it's Aerith. Most people really love her, but I despise her. I feel like she could have been a good character, but she's so... happy-pushy-teehee that it drives me nuts. I also don't like Marlene, who I see as a mini-Aerith. But... vote me as you see fit. Don't avoid an answer just because I wouldn't like it, that's no fun!

Ummm... I know in the rules it said to tag the entry, but it's telling me I can't. O.o Is there a way around this?

Wow, all that moving to China and stuff, sounds really interesting. What are you studying?

Anyway, I do see some of the same characteristics in you and Zack, but I like you said he seems to be more outgoing and laid-back. I thought of Marlene, too (sorry, lol). But in the end I'm voting for Shera - I couold imagine her feeling the same way as you do about the people cutting in line. :D Also, she's self-sacrificing and hardworking, like you.

Oops, in looking back at this I made the mistake of overlooking your not-to-be voted as section. In that case, I'm changing to Shera. :)

I can see Shera, but I'm going to go with Aerith. Aerith is very emphatic, determined, spiritual, forgiving--pretty much all of your good traits, and she's also very stubborn, self-sacrificing, naive and aloof at times. The likes/dislikes fit, as do your this or that's and situational answers. :) I also saw Ifalna though, as she seemed to be a less cheery but just as spiritual version of Aerith.

I can definitely see where the Shera vote is coming from, but I can also see where the Aerith ones are coming from. BUT, since you'd rather not be voted as Aerith, I'm going to go with a Shera vote! Your strengths/weaknesses and THIS OR THAT/SITUATIONS answers remind me a lot of her. :)

I can see Aerith, but since you'd prefer to not be voted as her... I must agree with Shera. I believe she fits your or responses better than Aerith does either way.
