AboutWelcome to the Summer of Serenity!
This community is a three-month long celebration of all things Firefly to prepare us for the Big Damn Movie - Serenity.
What is this community about?

serenitysummer is a celebration of Firefly in preparation for the Big Damn Movie (aka BDM)! Our goal is to let those of us who already know and love the Firefly universe to share our love and hopefully attract a few new Browncoats while doing so. Participants will be asked to sign up for a specific episode or character on the show and contribute something relating to that episode or character. The posting schedule can be found here. We'll be starting July 1st with 'Serenity,' the pilot episode, and doing two episodes, or one episode and a character, each week.
What should we be contributing?
This is the fun part!
Contributions can be any (and all!) of the following: fanfic, vids, icons, wallpapers, fanart, soundtrack art (if you have music to share, please share it from your LJ and link to it there), calendars, pic spam, and whatever else you can think of. At the beginning of each new week, one of the moderators will put up a post announcing the new episode and inviting discussion on that post. All fans, whether they're contributing to
serenitysummer or not, are welcome to join in the discussion posts with thoughts about the episode in question. Because we hope to attract folks new to the 'verse with this,
serenitysummer is a SPOILER SAFE area. When posting, make sure you identify any potential spoilers, and please keep all movie spoilers out of your contributions. All contributions are being linked in the community memories.

What are the dates I should know about?
June 1st - Sign-ups begin
June 17th - Sign-ups end
June 20th - All assignments are finalized
July 1st - Summer of Serenity kick-off date
September 30th - Final day, and opening of the BDM
The mods are available during the celebration for any and all questions.
Everyone is welcome to friend this journal, whether you plan to contribute or not. It's not a shindig without a large, fun crowd! Everyone is encouraged to comment on the contributions and let folks know how much you enjoy what they've shared. All posts made to the journal are moderated to keep the fun on-topic.
