On Christmas Eve 2006, I spent most of the night playing around with the settings on my camera and taking pictures of our Christmas tree and the highway right on our doorstep. The result is a two part collection of light textures. This post contains part one titled Tree of Lights. The set is available both in large size and icon size (100x100).

Wow, finally enough icons to make a decent collection! This is showcase of all the styles I'm tried in the past half year. There's a definite focus on Elizabeth and Teyla but the boys are in there, with some added Tricia Helfer.
Some of these were request icons and as such, they have the username of the requestee (is that even a word? *grin*) at the end of the filename. Please still credit me.
102 icons (89 SGA, 13 Tricia Helfer). No spoilers. New icons are at the top and older icons near the bottom, in their respective sections.

Before I started experimenting with curves, I wrote a small handful of tutorials. They weren't very good, but I received excellent feedback on them. I've had people ask me to continue, so here's my attempt at showing how I use curves. Please note that you do need to have a basic knowledge of curves. I've never looked at the curves function in programs other than GIMP, but hopefully non-GIMP users will benefit from this tutorial.

This is a mixed bag of 82 icons. I'm currently trying to alter my style and focus less on selective colouring and more on texture use. Here we have me trying to bridge that divide. Cropped icons from headers, experiments, and SGA inspired text icons (from my quite possibly deranged mind).
Please note that some of the SGA inspired text icons have slight references to "Echoes". I wouldn't call them overtly spoilery, but I like to be upfront about this sort of thing.

In the next day, I'll be replying to all your wonderful feedback and posting Icon Collection #81 (which is mostly SGA characters and inspired text icons, with a dash of BSG). A few days after that, I have 44 large light textures that I'll be releasing in header-size and 100x100 squares.
