| oh so many years have gone though i'm older than a year |
[27 Apr 2004|01:37am] |
indie!clark was officially born a year ago this march during a conversation about the strokes and shaggy haired boys, and it's worth mentioning, he was invented by pearl_o, not me. credit where credit's due, she just knows me too well.
but it was a year ago today that i created selling_out and the spectacles came alive. i wanted to do something for those people who share this delusion with me. i'm currently working on that project, one that's kept me writing, but offline, and it's still nowhere near finished. this is a little taste.
when you're in your little room and you're working on something good but if it's really good you're gonna need a bigger room and when you're in the bigger room you might not know what to do you might have to think of how you got started in your little room - "little room" by the white stripes
( Everything starts in that little room. I know that little room. I have that little room. )

Happy Birthday dear Bexless! |

For bexless, Happy Birthday!!!
Wish
"Close your eyes and blow."
"Where have I heard that before?" Ethan teases, and adds "Ow!" when Astrid smacks the back of his head. "Fine, fine."
Clark laughs, low and honest, and it still makes Ethan pause. He licks his lips and contemplates a wish.
"Wish for something you can *actually* have," Thomas says. Of everyone, Thomas knows him best.
"What's the fun in that?" Ethan asks.
Thomas shakes his head. Ethan closes his eyes and blows out the candles.
When he opens them, Lex's arm is still around Clark.
Next year, Ethan thinks, as he cuts the first slice.

not sure how much longer my internet connection will hold out, so here it is. unbeta'd, so look out for tense issues.
the story of clark's tie collection started back when i was first drooling over the idea of indie!clark. i just wrapped it up in some plot.

i really just wrote this to cheer myself up. i hope it doesn't suck.
the title comes from queen's "somebody to love". i'm listening to far too much queen than is probably healthy.
this was going to be a story about the egghead in the czech class until ethan opened his mouth. at the end of this post, i've included the egghead scenes i had to cut, but still found cute.
you guys will point out a tense issue, right?

Luthor announces new venture for company and son.
Metropolis, KS -- January 25, 2008 -- With the introduction of Ancient Records, Luthorcorp extends its reach into the world of music. While the label is to remain a subsidiary of Luthorcorp, Lionel Luthor's son, Lex, will act as CEO and creative consultant. Leaving Princeton with an MBA, this is the scion's first chance to prove his worth in his father's company. Ancient will be based in Metropolis, and sign bands from all over North America.
The young Luthor has built up a formative roster, but he's not afraid to play favourites. "Ancient has to come out running, and, with The Spectacles, I think we have a chance to win."
The elder Luthor was not available, but commented via his spokesperson, saying, "Lex has the complete support of Luthorcorp behind him, and I wish him much success with this venture."

Jess told me to do it, and who am I to incure the wrath of Canada?
Plus, it's been so quiet in here... I figure they must be on the road.

after breaking them up and (kinda) getting them back together, it's been tough to get back into the indie groove. some frivolity was in order.
the spectacles come over to get clark stoned. they get lex instead.

Dude, we all have embarrassing numbers of random pictures of the Spectacles cast on our computers. And they're pretty!
I say to jess, "Man, Franny/Thomas really would be so hot!"
And jess says, "Well, they all would."
And I thought about this, and said, "Well, yes."
And then I did this anyway.

Astrid in the Express
Zooey Deschanel, It Heartbreaker from Entertainment Weekly's It List. It might also interest you to know that Zooey plays the ukelele and is in a band called If All The Stars Were Pretty Babies. I don't think we could have made a better casting choice.
