So what's this all about then?

Simple, I love collecting and translating SEED Doujinshi. Occasionally I have questions, but I don't know of anyone who could answer them, and I don't want to spam communities with a bunch of questions about non-canon works. And I have a feeling I'm not alone, so I wanted to create a place where people with these questions can come and hopefully get an answer.

Other time I just want to squee about my new DJ. XD

What kind of questions?

A lot of times when you're buying a Doujinshi you have a cover scan, a page or two from inside, and a page count and nothing more. That's not a whole lot to go on.

It'd be nice to have a large group of SEED DJ collectors that could be asked about a specific DJ. Maybe one of them will have it to and can provide more info.

Moreover a lot of time the scans are misleading.

For example, this. Going by the scan you'd think this was a DJ about Athrun and Kira when they were kids (I did). You'd be wrong. Those two pages came from a three page flashback, the rest of the 78 page DJ takes place sometime after episode 40, possibly post series. Similarly when I bought Hoshikuzu Drop, I was not aware that Athrun and Kira would be this young during the (rather explicit) sex scene (That's a very special type of surprise).

It would be nice if I could ask "Hey, I'm considering buying [doujinshi], does any one know anything more about it?", or "I'm looking for an Asukira DJ that takes place when they're still on the moon (non-shouta preferred). Anyone know of anything good?"

Also, a lot of time when I'm translating DJ's I come across my mortal enemy, handwritten Kanji (;_;). It'd be really nice to be able to get other people's opinions on just what some of them are suppose to be.

Or I may come across a slang term I don't recognize or understand. Or have some other type of translation question.

If we could get a bunch of SEED DJ fans together into one place it would be possible to get this kind of help. ^_^

So, what kind of stuff is ok to post?

Recs, summaries, scans, translations, scanlations, questions, DJ related icons or wallpapers, advertisements for DJ's you're selling. Pretty much anything SEED Doujinshi related.

Any type of SEED Doujinshi?

Yep! Any genre of DJ (Yaoi, Yuri, or Het) is welcome, as is DJ's of any paring or about any character.

Bashing of any character, pairing, or genre is absolutely not welcome.

What will happen if I do bash something?

Bashing Yaoi and/or Yuri (or Het, though that's a lot less common) will get you banned straight off. I have zero tolerance for prejudice.

With character or pairing bashing, depending on context, you'll either get a warning or banned.

Keep in mind of course, there is a significant difference between having a negative opinion about something and (respectfully!) expressing that opinion and bashing something. "I don't really like [pairing]." is not the same as "OMG [pairing] is so stupid,! I don't know how anyone can like it!!" Which is really not the same as "*insert insults and/or negative stereotypes of [pairing] fans here*".

Not to mention, there's a difference between being prompted for you're opinion and randomly volunteering it. "I really like [character], what about you?" "I don't really like them because *explanation goes here*" vs. "*happens to mention [character]*" " I hate [character]! *tirade against [character] goes here*".

Basically, it works like this:

If you're just saying how much you don't like a character or pairing, without really being rude, you're probably fine. (Especially if the conversation is about your feelings on that subject.)

If you start getting worked up about how much you don't like a character/pairing and start making some…stronger statements, you'll probably be warned to tone it down.

If it crosses into outright bashing, depending on the specifics, you'll either get a warning or a ban. Multiple warnings in a short period of time will get you banned.

If you start going on about the fans of a specific pairing or character being dumb for liking it/them or something of that nature, you're banned.

What about DJ's about other series?

In their own post, no.

If it's something like "Here's a list of all my DJ's, if you want to ask me about them." or "Look at these three new DJ's I got!" but only some of them are SEED related, that's fine. Or if you're posting something about a specific circle, you don't have to limit yourself to just mentioning their SEED DJ's (though if it's like, 20 non-SEED DJ's and one SEED DJ, you're pushing it).

A primarily Off Topic post, with a token mention of SEED DJ's, is not OK either.

So I can post scans?

Absolutely!

However, anything graphic must be behind a cut, with clear warnings of what type of content is there.

Any larger pics, even work safe ones, should be cut as well.

How do I use an LJ cut?

<lj-cut text="CUT TEXT">[stuff in the cut]</lj-cut>

What about F-Locking stuff?

You can lock anything you feel like locking, though you're not required to.

So, someone posted a really cool scan…

If you want to do anything with other people's scans (make icons, make wallpapers, repost) you must ask first! The only exception is if they say in the post it's ok to use the scans for X. (And even then, you can only use them for X, not Y.)

What it I want to Scanlate them?

Still have to ask.

I found some scans on a website, can I post them here?

Does the site say it's ok to repost the scans? If not, no. You can post a link to the site though.

Can I post asking someone to Translate/Scanlate my DJ?

You can try, but the answer may be no. If it is, don't keep posting about it or harass people. No one is obligated to do this for you.

If you are posting scans you want translated, you really need post large scans.

Believe me, there is a very big difference between and . If you want stuff translated the translator needs to be able to actually read what you want translated.

I can't see some of the pics!

Does this one work?

What about this one?

If the first did, but the second didn't the location you're connecting from blocks pics from most photo hosting sites (Photobucket, Imageshack, Deviant Art, etc).

I have a question that's not listed here.

E-mail me.

It helps to put [SEED Doujinshi] in the subject line, so I don't think you're spam.
