| Sunday Movie - The Golden Compass |

This sunday (before Tea at Tabbi's) I will be going to see the Golden Compass.
I am planning on going to see the 11:00 AM show at the Regal Alderwood Stadium 7 theatre. By going to the 11:00 show it should (assuming the movie is less than 2.5 hours) mean no problem going to that and to the tea if you wanted to do both.

| Christmas Tea! |

Tea hasn't been happening on my end, because either I'm working, or it's the same weekend as Norwescon meetings. Plus, Free Time is somewhat of a myth for me.
However! Sunday, December 9th is Christmas Tea.
Where: My house, in Lynnwood. Directions upon request (and everyone will be requesting, I'm not on ANY maps or GPS).
When: Sunday, December 9th at 1:30pm
Why: Because it's Christmas Tea, and it's tradition! (sort of)
What: You bring teas you want to share. There will be teapots and teas here, along with snacks (menu TBA).
How Many: I can actually seat up to about 24, if I borrow a few chairs. Cups and plates might get interesting, so if we get up to that many, please offer to bring your favorite mug. Or your second-favorite, in case of breakage. :)
THE CATCH: I NEED RSVP by FRIDAY at 4:00 PM!!! Unfortunately, I have to work on Saturday (again!) so I'm going to have to order food to be brought in, and I'll need adequate time to make sure everyone is properly counted.
IF anyone wants to bake goodies, please indicate that in the note.
I apologize for the very late notice. See above note about time being a mythological beast. If someone else would like to take over tea organizing, I'm happy to give you my notes. Please let me know. |

Therefore, I’m gonna go see it this Sunday at the Regal Alderwood Stadium 7 theatre (this is the one on the street behind Alderwood mall, not the one in the Alderwood mall complex itself).
I plan on going to the 11:30 AM show and hope to see some folks there. |

| Sunday Movie: Double Feature! - Underdog/Bourne Ultimatum |

There are two movies out this week that I want to see, and so I am intending on doing a double feature this week :)
I plan on seeing Underdog at 10:00 AM and Bourne Ultimatum at 12:05 PM at the Alderwood Loews Cinema 16.
This should work out fine since the Underdog movie only runs 1.5 hours.

The movie this week will be one that’s been out for a while but that I haven’t gotten a chance to see yet. I’ll be going to see Ratatouille at the Loews Alderwood 16 at the 10:00 AM showing (yeah, it’s early, but the pre-noon shows are $5.00 and I have somewhere else to be later that afternoon so I couldn’t do the 12:50 easily).

Well, after a week of trying, I still don't have the .... (ahem!) tickets.
The online site is having issues. A bit of discussion with the customer support has escalated me to tier 2 support, which will get me a call back within 2 business days; there's a note indicating that I have a group going on Wednesday, August 1st and that the call should be sooner rather than later.
Once the tickets are paid for, I can print them out myself. The problem is, the system won't let me PAY for the darn things at the moment. Overcoming that is a matter of ... who knows what.
On the up side, the price is $18.90 per ticket. I'll try and send out emails when I've got the darn things and let people know how much for their set and who to make checks out to. |

The movie this Sunday will be Hairspray. The musical was fabulous, and every review I’ve heard for the movie says this will be as well.

Had tea there with some friends today.
It's very twee in a pleasant Victorian way. The tea itself was perfectly brewed and very tasty. Service was slow, but not as slow as Mrs. Pennycooke's in Snohomish.
The sandwiches were delicious. Warning to those allergic to nuts, the tunafish had almonds in it. Made for an interesting sandwich though. They had a good selection of sandwiches and other proteins. And you could order off of a full menu, not just pre-set tea party fare.
The scones were a bit dry so they loaded them with sugar glaze to compensate. Eh. Cookies were standard, probably purchased, not baked there.
I'm told that the creamy tomato soup was very good. And they had salads as well.
Price was very nice. About $16 for the same amount you get at Taste the Moment in Redmond (though I still like Taste the Moment better).
Overall it was worth the trip. Just make sure you get the tea selection that has the most sandwiches or order one of the entree dishes. |

Well, by order of the vast majority of 8 people voting in the poll (like, all of them), we're still having tea. :)
Time: Just Afternoon Tea (vote of 5 to 3), so we'll try around 3:00 pm. Does this time work for most folks?
When: 2nd Saturday of the month is the first choice. If, for some reason, there's something really strange about that Saturday, either that Sunday or the previous Sunday are the voted alternates (one has 6 votes, one has 5, but if a Saturday's strange, chances are the entire weekend is).
REMINDER: December Tea is mine to host, and it's both Lunch and Sunday by tradition.
Next Tea (unless there's problems with time): 11 August, 2007 -- Remedy Tea in Capital Hill. Details to be posted later. *
Why: 2 people didn't care. :) 3 people preferred Saturdays; the other three preferred Sundays. The people who preferred Saturdays managed to vote a little more grouped together. As a plus, there are a few folks who join on a random basis who simply cannot do Sundays; as a minus, River will probably be unable to join us on a regular basis (she was a Sunday) and Talek & I may miss at least one tea due to Norwescon meetings.
Vote results: 1st choice got 3 points, 2nd choice got 2 points, 3rd choice got 1 point. I added the points and left it at that. You can see the poll results here, so I'm not going to reproduce them.

1st Sunday: 5
2nd Saturday: 8
