Hi I am Siren, posting this for a friend who is having a singles event this Saturday:

Event: Kick Ass Singles Pot Luck

Date: June 7, 2008

Time: Noon-2 p.m.

Location: Matthews Beach

(Seattle, WA) – Kick Ass Singles Pot Luck (“KASPL”)! KASPL is a volunteer based event that promotes a relaxed, fun and empowering environment for kick ass singles to mix, mingle and meet a potential match. We are looking for singles of all ages, races, genders, and sexuality to attend the KASPL event on June 7 at Matthews Beach.

Details:

On June 7th, each person will bring a potluck dish to share. Non-alcoholic drinks will be provided. Music from DJ Darin will be provided. There will be a “best dessert” contest so put your oven mitts on and start baking! We have 10 picnic tables reserved. However, we also suggest bringing a folding chair or blanket to sit on.

The cost to participate in KASPL is 10 cans of food to be donated to the University District Food Bank. Please email Melissa Habeck (sashatuche@comcast.net) to register! Looking forward to a kick ass time with my fellow singles.
Pooey.

The weekend turned sour. Really blows, but friend was feeling outta sorts. So, no dice on heading out. Really wanted to catch a movie or two, visit a club or two, and party it up a bit.

Such is the way of life. Health issues wait on no man.

Hope the rest of you had a good weekend. The weather was very nice this weekend. Looked like a good night to hang out.

Oh, I hear Norwestcon is happening, for the geeks in the area. I've never been. Got friends that have, think maybe I can convince my friends to join me in poking my nose around, see if I can meet some new and interesting people.

So the weekend draws near. Soon the riches of fun and excitement will flow once again.

Happy days.

What are peoples plans for this weekend? Hmmm, wonder if the forecast is for nice, partially sunny days.

I believe I'll be hitting the UW campus to walk amongst the blooming cherry blossoms. Do some easy going city site seeing. Simple, but fun things.

Maybe catch a movie, ooooh. Need to hit The Keg restaurant. I've been dying for a good steak. Not a great steak, as those places are spendy, but a good steak will work just fine.

So. 24+ hours later, and I've just had one person drop a friendly comment to me.

This fast paced lifestyle on this community is killer!

Lets see if I can stir up some action...

Movie-goers! Hey you folks. Anyone as excited as I am about the upcoming film Grindhouse?

It looks, corny, cheap, cheesy with large doses of campy action, campy dialoge and even more cliche' action scenes. Add to the mix that it's a double feature. A short movie of the above qualities by Quentin Tarantino, and another by Robert Rodriguez!!!

I could only get this happy/giddy/excited if the playboy mansion invited me over for a complete and total flesh fest of carnal delight. Since that isn't going to happen in the foreseeable future, I'll just have to keep it contained for this movie.

Speaking of fun, campy, cheesy, fun. Did anyone go and see Snakes on a Plane? Was that movie not the greatest piece of filmography ever? I don't even know if filmography is a real word, or if I used it in the correct context, but dang. That movie had me in tears of laughter.

Now, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, and so when I watch a movie, it takes me a while to catch the plot lines/hooks. If I can see them, they aren't well done in my opinion. If I walk into the theater knowing everything that's going to happen without seeing the movie, it's just bad. When a movie is done in a campy, tongue in cheek manner like Snakes on a Plane, I got ape-feces silly with laughter.

Guess I'll leave it at this, see if I stir up any interest in yakking about movies.

How goes the good life?

Spring is in the air, and we all know what that means....SPRING CLEANING and YARD WORK WOOOOOOO!

Yep, I loathe this time of the year. I loathe fall for the same reasons. Not a big yard work kinda guy. Just not my thing, but I do it. If I don't, the place looks...less then pleasant.

So, enough mindless ramblings, what am I doing here? Oh yes, introductions for those that may wish to know a bit about me, and for those others that can then steer clear of me once the info is out there.

Brief History and Stats...
Born: 08/09/1973 *I did indeed renew through fiery ritual of carousel*
H: 6'0" W: 160lbs.
Hair: Technically Dark Brown/Black, but since I owe the wonderful balding gene to that beautiful woman I call mommy, I'm now bald.
Eyes: Brown. Personally, I wish they were hazel, but hey, gotta take what the good parents gave ya right? Besides, contacts give a nice temporary fix to that.

Hobbies: Hmmm. I guess hobbies are to imply the things you do most often vs things you like to do and/or don't mind doing. So on that note, I'm a geek. Straight up, hard core geek. Not like the media depicts...at least I'm not THAT geeky looking. I'm moderately handsome dangnabbit! I'm socially adept to boot. Oh, right, hobbies.
Movies, Gaming (Tabletop, Console, PC), Reading (Sci-Fi & High Fantasy), wow. That pretty much wraps up the constants.

Okay, things I like to do, but due to my previous definition can't be defined as hobbies *gasp*.
Walking, Hiking, Theater, Clubbing, Socializing in it's many forms, arts and culture and generally anything that inspires a good time.

Things I don't mind to do: Anything not covered in the previous lists.

Oops, location is pretty important for some: Bremerton. Though I commute to work graveyards in Seattle...twisted much?

That's about all I can think of off the top of my head. But it always makes me feel like I'm in a cheesy support group meeting. My real purpose in posting is, would there be an interest in starting an IRC (or something) channel for this community/area? I generally find a more dynamic form of communication conducive to getting to know people better. Even better, is there one already?

K.

Hello everyone. I am new to the community and thought I would post some info and say hello.

I have been living in the Seattle area this time for just over a year, and before that I lived in the Puget Sound for about 5 years. I am a Portland native but Stumptown is just too small for me any more.

I just recently celebrated my 35th birthday with some friends at the Woodland Park Zoo where we were silly and probably annoying for hours :)

I am 6'2" tall and am what you would call a 'tubby bastard' but that is being changed.

I am a geek at heart. I love gaming (all types) and I am a serious cooking geek too. I think my two favorite tv shows are Good Eats and Mythbusters.

I am looking to meet a nice woman that is down to earth and just enjoys 'being'. I want to make friends first though and see where things go from there. It is always nice to have more friends.

So does anyone here organize get togethers or anything?

And what are you profiles?

I use:

OkCupid: This is my favorite. You can limit based on area, fun quizes, and personality profile matching. http://okcupid.com/profile?u=adameros

Friendster: About all it's good for is having your friends hook you up with their friends. http://www.friendster.com/adameros (I just set up the custom url, so this might not work just yet).

MySpace: People actually meet people on this site? http://www.myspace.com/adameros

I was going to say I was bored so decided to post here.. but then I remember that saying "Those who are bored are boring" and decided to refrain. Really I have plenty to do - such as finishing unpacking the boxes in my room, or folding up my suitcase and finding closet space for it - but those are productive things that I am NOT in the mood for. :P

About me:

I'm a 23 y/o female. I've travelled lots (read more countries than states). I like to think I'm reasonably intelligent, but I tend to have 'blonde moments' and stumble over my tongue. I'm new to Seattle, but just moved down after I finished college up in Bellingham. I live near Greenlake, and am slowly trying to find new favorite places. I'd love to go on some dates and/or explore the city with someone else. I love animals and have a dog, as does my roomie and I spend a lot of time on walks and/or at parks with the dogs. I'd also LOVE to go to a play as I haven't been in years and I know Seattle has a good theater community. I love music, but I tend to feel lost in bars/clubs sometimes. I'm a big dork and enjoy video games, and the occasional board game with the right players to make it entertaining. I can play chess, though not well. I'm a dork, but at least I try to be an attractive one with cleavage and nice smelling perfume. It's not the season really right now, but I'd LOVE to go rent kyaks on a lake or something for a couple of hours. I love being on the water and have gone on 1 week long kyak trip and one week long small sailboat trip - but it's been a while. I've been white water rafting once, and that was loads of fun. Basically - I tend to revert to a bit of a homebody by default - but I would LOVE to meet some more people and go out and do new and fun things more often. (Though right now finances are tight.) I tend to not enjoy bars/clubs unless I'm drinking - and I've got stomach problems that make it very bad for me to drink. I still do - just not often because I pay for it for the next week.

About you:

Like I said, I'd love to explore the city some more with other people. Meeting a great guy who enjoys my company and I enjoy his would be great. A sense of humor that clicks well with mine can get you a LONG ways. I'd be happy to make a few new friends, but I'm not looking for friends with benefits right now. I'd like to find someone who's got a good balance of enjoying trying new things/foods/adventures but also knows how to cuddle up on the couch and watch TV without getting restless.

Blah blah. I dunno what to say I'm just kind of rambling. :P Sorry.

On rainy days I seldom turn down watching an episode or two of Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Anything else, send me a message @ puddingbaron on AIM.

So with that, hello :)
