i live on capitol hill and lightning struck extremely close to my house. one of my roommates actually saw it hit the ground. scary!

Agreed. It's an awesome photo and all that (it really is!), but there's a good reason that the community policies say, "Please put any large entries/or entries with pictures that are over 50KB (or 400x400 pixels) behind an LJ-Cut. Thank you."
