dog-friendly establishments
I'm looking for a list of dog-friendly stores/restaurants/bars/etc. in the greater Seattle area. I've heard that White Horse Trading Company (bar) and Hooverville (bar) allow dogs...what other joints around town let you bring your dog with you?

Besides pet stores and parks and whatnot (duh).

I found these two lists thanks to Google:
http://seattle.citysearch.com/roundup/40192
http://www.dogfriendly.com/server/travel/uscities/guides/us/cities/usonlinecityWASeattle.shtml

But they only list outdoor dining areas and whatnot.

I second Norm's. And their wasabi tartarsauce is the best thing ever.

Lava Lounge will also allow dogs. I was there last Wed. and they had 6 dogs in there for a Doggie Birthday. It was so cute :)

Hypothetically, anywhere should allow your dog in with you if you tell them they are a service dog... "companion dogs" (for agoraphobia) & "stroke dogs" (to detect stroke) typically do not have the fancy harness that seeing eye dogs do, & it's considered Invasion of Privacy for an establishment to ask for proof that your dog is a service dog (because it discloses the person's condition).

I mean it's kind of a hassle to deal with that crap, but it is an option if anybody gives you shit for having your dog around. Companion dogs need very little training (sometimes none) & can be any breed/size, so it's not like you have to have a Retriever for this to fly.

As long as they're well behaved! :) You'd be surprised (perhaps) at the behavior some dog owners feel is appropriate in public.

Hm, seizure dog might be better since strokes don't happen to young people as often as seizures do.

There are also helper monkeys, FWIW, so maybe we should be on the lookout.

I don't know what kind of restaurant would allow someone to bring their dog inside. I can't imagine it would be good for business, seriously who wants to be at the table stuck close by to the asshole who brought his dog?

ummm... yep.

i'll use this list to know which restaurants to avoid. this seems to be against health regulations to allow pets inside of places which serve food.

Dogs aren't children. They CAN be left home unsupervised.

I agree, however I'd like to add: you can leave your children at home unsupervised. They're resilient, and how else are they supposed to learn important life lessons like.. don't go in the back of mom's closet or those pipes on your dad's dresser aren't for decoration.

It does annoy me when people bring their dogs everywhere, but I think having a few dog-friendly restaurants around is a good idea. If I'm out walking my dog I get hungry too. I'm definitely going to try a few of the recommendations on here, thanks for posing the question OP!

If I'm remembering right, you live up here in the North end? There is a 'doggie restaurant' in... Edmonds I think it was? that serves food for you and your dog.

Ok - that might be a step too far. If you care, I will try to look it up again. Or you might be able to just search it out on google maps or something.
