Places to buy shaving supplies in Seattle?
I was wondering if anyone knows of a place in Seattle that retails upscale shaving supplies (shaving soaps, creams, brushes, double-edge blades). I'm going to be back for a visit tomorrow and would prefer to not have to pack my shaving gear.

Specifically, brand names for soaps or creams like: Proraso, Art of Shaving, Truefitt & Hill, Trumpers, etc.

Blades: Feather, Merkur, Derby.

I would like to pick up a cheap brush, and I will already have my DE Razor. Any help?

not sure about the rest of it, but for a cheap throw away brush ($5), look at QFC. It's in a little green box in the shaving aisle.

Forgot about those -- they're fairly common. Thanks!

Only place I can think of is the Tinderbox - you know, the somewhat-cheezy smoking supplies mall store

I bought a razor hone and some strop oil from the one at the Southcenter mall, but they had to be special-ordered in from Colonel Conk's.... they DO have a selection of shaving supplies there, though.

If anyone knows, I'd be hella interested. As a fan of classic shaving myself (love my straight razor), I think it'd be great to get the good stuff locally

I forgot about Colonel Conk...

I believe it's their Almond scent that I enjoy quite a bit.

Thanks for the heads up -- I'll check them out when I get into town.

Excalibur Cutlery?

There's a location in Northgate and Southcenter. They have Colonel Conk products available for sale via their website, not sure if their entire line is also shown in their stores or not. We'll see.

The place in Northgate at least carries the Conk soap, I believe I've seen Dovo straight blades and strops there as well, so I'd guess they've got brushes at least and probably double-edged blades.

Looks like Oslo's on Queen Anne also carries some finer shaving products.

Nordys has Art of Shaving. They have some yummy things. As for razors, the Excalibur Cutlery is a good suggestion. I have gotten a few razors there. They also have brushes.

If there's Proraso in Seattle I'd like to know about it. I looked all over for that and Taylor's with no luck. I also get brushed at Excalibur, but if I recall correctly their cheapest badger one is around $25.

Maybe just order stuff from classicshaving.com and have it meet you here? Oh, tomorrow--nevermind.

Yeah, I probably could have planned better. If it came down to it, I'd just check my stuff. It's just a PITA to pack and carry.

It looks like I'll be able to find some workable stuff though.

You can buy Proraso at Target, but you have to look for it in the area of the women's makeup. They have a section with men's skin care, and it is with that stuff. They also have cheap brushes.

I was under the impression that Target had stopped carrying Proraso in favor of their new line of (far inferior) products.

No idea. Maybe you are right. I just know I've bought it there before.

I've bought Trumper's products at Mario's, downtown, near Pacific Place. They also do have blades and the like, though I'm not sure whose blades they carry.

Wholefoods and a couple of other places carry Tweezerman brand badger-hair brushes for around $15.
