WELCOME

First and foremost - and before I start with the explanations - welcome to "Seasonal Dresden". This is a 2 month create-a-thon centered around the book/TV series The Dresden Files created by Jim Butcher.

Second, the idea for a community like this is not mine. It's based and inspired by both

summer_of_spike and

seasonal_spuffy (hence the name). So if you come from that fandom and things look and sound familiar, it's because I adore both these comms. No copying, stealing, or other infringement is ever intended. I say this with such clarity because I want to avoid unnecessary trouble.

summer_of_spike was probably the first comm with this concept so all the credit goes to them.

GENERAL INFORMATION

seasonaldresden is - as I said above - based on the book as well as the TV series "The Dresden Files. This means, that this create-a-thon will focus on both - the book series and the TV series.
While I'm aware that a lot of fans did not approve very much of the show, I adore it. Therefore it will be featured as well.

Now, what is this all about. This is about creating, contributing to the ever-growing fandom. And also to pass the time until we may get a second season of the show/until the next book comes out. And of course, to have fun.

You can contribute anything: fic, icons, graphics, videos, essays, whatever your creative mind can come up with.

The first (and hopefully not last) round will run for 2 month (August/September).

SIGN UPS FOR ROUND 1 ARE OPEN UNTIL JUNE 30th.

RULES

(1) Members will be assigned a posting date within the window they selected. You must post on the day you are given. No swapping, switching or late posting with the exception of time zone differences. It may be your day on the other side of the world but please stick to the time you're in.

Also, you're not allowed to share your posting date with something who is not signed up here. If you wish to collaborate with someone, you both must be signed up, indicating that you need to assigned to the same day.

(2) If for any reason you're not able post on your day, please let me know as soon as possible so you may be reassigned to another date.

(3) All contributions MUST ME ORIGINAL. I've seen great icons and fics all around already, but the purpose of this community is to create something new. However, if you have something lurking around on your computer that you haven't posted yet, this would be your place to share it.

(4) All contributions must made directly to this community, meaning no fake-cut, outside links etc. Your contributions should be located here so that people don't need to browse away. Of course, you can also post to other communities, your own journals etc. but you must post here as well.
If you're contributing a video, I advise you to use YouTube or something similar which allows embedded video players.

(5) NO BASHING WHATSOEVER. Please keep in mind that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If you don't share that opinion, that's fine, but please respect it. While angst and drama is allowed (and highly welcome, if I had a say in things), no character(pairing/storyline/fan bashing is allowed.

Also, if you're an avid fan of the books and think that nobody should have ever made a TV show, please keep in mind those who like the show. It does sound redundant to mention this over and over again, but it is important to me and for the sake of fun of this community.

Members violating this rule will be banned into a skull for all eternity.

(6) Again, both book!verse and TV!verse are allowed and more than welcome. Any pairing, genre, storyline etc is welcome. Whatever blows your skirt up ;)

(7) Clearly label your entries in the subject line. This goes especially for adult material.

(8) Stories and large graphics must be placed behind and LJ-cut. Again, this goes especially for adult material. If you're posting icons, please don't post more than 3 icons outside the cut in regards of those with a dial-up connection. If you don't know how to use a cut-tag, please go here

(9) Your posts MUST have the following in their labels:
- Title (if applicable)
- Medium (what is that we're seeing, fic, icons, videos etc)
- Rating (highly important for adult material)
- TV or book verse
- Warning (if your contribution contains something that might offend others)
- A/N (if applicable)

(10) Feedback is the essence of any fandom contribution. So comment, comment, comment.

(11) If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask them. If can't post on the date assigned to you, if you have troubles posting etc. Asking those questions is the key. Almost anything can be negotiated withing reason. I really don't bite.

These rules are subject to chance in case I forgot something. I advise you to check back every now and then in case something changes.
