This is the LJ Community for the S.D.Q.B ML.
Sick of OOC portrayals of Quatre as weak, innocent and angelic? We at the SDQB want to promote Quatre as the strong but sensitive guy he is. Similiary we want to avoid the equally OOC portrayals of 'evil ZERO system' Quatre. It's possible to be strong, yet still caring.
Rules/guidelines
1. What can be posted?
Fic, artwork, discussions, essays and recommendations.
2. Content
However as this community has been formed for a specific reason, ie to promote Quatre as the strong but sensitive guy he is, we want to avoid those many cliches/stereotypes rampant in the fandom which has led to the need for SDQB. In other words no use of the nicknames 'little one', 'angel', 'cuddlebunny' and the like in fics etc, as this will undermine what we are trying to achieve. In other words no OOC, weak, whimpy Quatre portrayals. This is not what this list is for.
On the other hand, no Guidos allowed either. For those of you unfamiliar with Quatre's evil clone, Guido (as outlined in a brilliant essay by Mandy) is probably best described as the 'evil ZERO system Q' often found at the other end of the spectrum in fic. In other words no gratious angst, violence, bastardisation or marginalisation of characters. That includes other characters in the fic, not just Quatre.
It's possible to be strong, yet still caring and in touch with your emotions.
Dark themes are fine, but if a story has such themes, we'd hope that they be executed thoughtfully and with care.
Fics that are deemed gratuitous or abusive will be removed from the archive and the author will be notified. If someone persists in posting such material, they will be removed from the list. If you're not sure about a particular fic, feel free to forward it to one of
the mods to get an opinion before you post. We're not trying to be discouraging or draconian about this!
Uke/seme is not an issue here. This is not a list for super seme Quatre, we are quite happy to see Quatre in either role, as long as he's portrayed in character. Besides who says the seme is the one in control? ;)
When posting fic please include the following:
[Fic] in the subject line of the post
Fic Title
Author
Pairings (if applicable)
Rating - ratings should be clearly labelled in accordance with the International Movie Ratings - G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17 (for violence and dark themes).
Warnings/Spoilers
Story Summary (This makes the archivist very happy)
An email address so we can send feedback :)
Fics should also be spell checked before posting.
3. Play nice!
Hopefully this isn't a neccessary rule because we anticipate most members being mature enough not to flame each other! No flaming! This community supports both het and yaoi. If there's a pairing you don't like, don't read it or look at it. If anyone starts an anti-X thread whether it be anti-yaoi, anti-het, or anti a particular pairing, you will be banned from the community. There's enough bigotry and hatred in the real world to have it carry over
into our play time.
On the other hand, civil discussions regarding particular pairings or character interpretations are fine, and even encouraged! Let's just keep cool heads and allow courtesy and tolerance to prevail.
Examples (Neither of which reflects the opinion of the community mods

BAD: I hate 3x4. Quatre's a clingy idiot.
GOOD: I have a hard time seeing 3x4 in the series because I think
Trowa is too cynical to get along with Quatre's idealism.
4. Feedback
This isn't a rule, but authors and artists really appreciate and value feedback, so if you can manage to take a little extra time after reading or viewing something you like, or if you have some constructive criticism to offer, let the author or artist know! On the other hand, if you have nothing nice to say, keep it to yourself. Many people prefer that more critical comments be sent to them privately, so keep that in mind as well.

If you don't want something in the archive, let us know by stating **Do Not Archive** clearly either in the subject line or at the top of your post. The point is simply to have a good collection of material featuring Quatre, with his balls intact, in one place.
In addition to archived pieces, if there's good art and fiction featuring Quatre out there at large, feel free to post your recommendations to the list and we can maybe have a list and/or
relevant links to point others in the right direction.
Please feel free to pimp good Quatre websites or your Q- centric web stuffs :D
Lastly, if your site is anti-X or in an anti-X webring, we will not link to it. We refuse to tolerate intolerance.
