Hola. New member here. My housemates and I have just finished reading Gets It Together, after rereading the first 3 volumes. It seems to me that people (like me) who seriously love this series can all find a lot in these books to identify with, so I compiled a list - in no particular order.

1) Dating a 17 year old. One of my friends did do this briefly last year, and we made fun of him mercilessly for it because we are bad people.
2) Meeting someone awesome soon after starting to date someone else. This happens to me all the freakin' time, possibly as karma for the kind of behaviour exhibited in point number one.
3)Sleeping later than practically everyone I know. I've kind of gotten out of this habit thankfully, but it used to be embarrassing to be still in bed when my friends got home from work.
4) Trying to record an album is someones bedroom. Complete with empty egg-box DIY soundproofing on the walls.
5) Haircutphobia.
6)irrational hatred of every other bass player in town.
7) Friend who knows everyone (including you)
8) Copious use of red wine in cooking (by my housemate) who is also known to drink the rest of the bottle while cooking.
9) Recognized by peeple I have no recollection of whatsoever.
10) Awesome fighting powers*

Does anyone know where I can buy ...Gets It Together online, in the UK? I've pre-ordered, post-ordered, second hand ordered...and every place claims to be all out of stock :-( The only place I can find it is on eBay, for twice the RRP.

I need peoples' advice here. I'm going to Dragon*con in Atlanta, GA at the end of August, and am going as Ramona Flowers in her amazon.ca work clothes, minus the rollerblades (for safety reasons; i can't skate). I even made a box with Scott Pilgrim's name + address on it ^^;

However, I'm still in 2 minds as to what to do for her hair. So what do you *points at you* think?

i was at the seattle premiere for hot fuzz tonight. it was awesome. you should go.
edgar wright, simon pegg and nick frost were all there and took questions.
i asked about the scott pilgrim film and edgar wright said, "you could be in it!"

I'm not sure if it's in the issue or just on the website (or if this link will stay alive), but Entertainment Weekly (DOT COM) picked Scott Pilgrim #3 as "Independent-Publisher Comic of the Year".

If anyone has seen the print version of their best of '06 stuff, maybe they can inform me whether it's in there. I hear "Fun Home" was listed as book of the year...

desperate measures

I tripped over "Scott Pilgrim" volumes one and two when my sister left them lying on the floor. I ended up reading them during a bath. After finishing the second volume, I emerged from the tub and padded into my sister's room. I tend not to go into my sister's room, mainly because the floor is so cluttered that entering imperils life and limb. But I wanted to see if she had any volumes of "Scott Pilgrim" after volume two, which she did!

What I enjoyed most was seeing Scott's life unfold in various locations I visit all the time in Toronto. Scott being surprised by Knives at the Bloor and Bathurst intersection was cute, and I will never be able to walk into the Sonic Boom music shop without feeling a pang of sadness for poor Knives. I'll never wander into the Toronto Reference Library without imagining Ramona and Knives exchanging blows. And I'll never walk up those steps to Casa Loma without thinking of poor Lucas Lee's skateboarding.

This probably says more about my indefinite lines between fiction and reality than it does about Brian Lee O'Malley's talent, but I'm going to attribute it to his artistic ability anyway.

Today in my illustration class in school, we were asked to bring in a photo reference of someone we admire and paint them, I Choose Mr. Bryan Lee O'Malley, it is the first painting I've done in some months, but I think it turned out pretty well.

This is a lovely piece of artwork from Scott Pilgrim Vol 3: Scott Pilgrim & the Infinite Sadness (released June 2006). It's the opening splash pages! It depicts Envy Adams and Todd Ingram rocking out on stage whilst Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers look on from the audience! It is 11"x14", black ink on white bristol, and very much suitable for framing!"

SOOOOOOOOOO the dudes/mens/bros shirts are down on the store right now, yes. We know this, and it is because we ran out of XL sizes like almost immediately, and we had it all set up poorly so the our store didn't keep track and a couple of people who ordered a mens XL shirt can't get them blah blah blah blah blah and we took the men's shirt section down completely. We still have a decent amount of all of the other sizes, but you XL dudes are gonna have to wait until we make another run.

Oh, and we're fixing the problem and I'll let you all know when the shirts are back online.
