scificons is a LiveJournal community designed to be either home or display case to icons from all science fiction fandoms. Whether you love Star Trek or Star Wars, Farscape or Fifth Element, if it's from (or about) a science fiction movie, tv show or book it's welcome here!
MEMBERSHIP
Moderator-Access? No thanks. At this stage we're quite happy to take anyone on board, although we would appreciate a high standard of icons. If the number of members starts to climb too high we may consider restricted posting access, but we believe in giving everyone a go.
POSTING RULES
We don't really have too many rules, but we would appreciate you following the ones we have.
1. LJ-CUTS Yes, we like them - and if you have more than 4 icons we'd love it if you could put them behind one.
2. BASES are fine. But please don't confuse them with pictures that have been cropped and have had a 1-pixel border added to them. We really don't like those.
3. TEXT is preferred, but not necessary.
4. CREDITING is essential. If you've used someone elses caps, we want to know.
5. ALT-TAGS aren't required, but we find they come in handy for Lyric Credits.
6. STEALING is bad, and will result in expulsion from the Community and a visit from an angry moderator. Be greatful that I don't send Klingons/Darth Vader/Scarrans/[insert fandom villain here] after you!
7. TEASERS are essential. No more than 3, no less than 1. Any posts made without Teasers/Example icons will be removed.
