...Why doesn't Tag just gravy the cargo "down"?

Personally, I'm wondering why they aren't teraporting it.

As unstable as the situation there appears, I'm assuming teraport denial is in place.

This question is entirely beside the point:
When did teraporting get fixed so that mass is no longer lost on each jump?

I thought mass conversion just happened when changing velocities. I could be wrong, though.

There's what I was refering to.

I'm still going through the early archives to see if there was a solution offered for the problem at any point.

If not, then the simple answer to the OP is: You try to minimize teraports of shipments of material, since you lose some each time.

This got fixed quite a while ago. I can't remember the exact strip.

The problem isn't the loss of mass. The problem is the TAD fields in place right now.

That said, Tagon and the others have figured out they have a problem. They have not engineered a solution, and that's fine, because they haven't figured out exactly how many problems they have...

I seem to recall Kevyn was able to figure that one out after studying the Gatekeepers' technology.

Yeah, I was wondering why they aren't just using the same method to offload the cargo as they did to load it. There are probably lots of perfectly good explanations, of course, but I still wonder.

Lack of control of the grav systems on Eatonrun, for one thing.

Lack of fine control on either ship, for another.

And, for a final cherry on the hypothetical cake, what effects would projected gravity fields have on a rotating space habitat with no artificial gravity or gravity shields?

Not to mention that gravy only really goes well with potatoes and roast beef...

Damnit.. Now I'm hungry.

"what effects"

Fun ones, from a 'look at that gorgeous chaos and destruction!' standpoint.

My internal Physics Engine is providing results in your scenario ranging from terrifying to horrifying.

I would think that if the Tunguska's AI had fine enough gravy control to shoot Colonel Jaksmouth in the head with Tagon's pistol without injuring Tagon's hand in the process, then Tag could manage to unload the Eatonrun's cargo onto the habitat without inflicting worse than a few dented crates and bulkheads.
