Pavel Florensky's House - Sergiev Posad
The following is from the Golden Ring of Russia website.

Florensky's House

In this house at Pionerskaya, 19 lived the great Russian philosopher of the 20th century Father Pavel Florensky. The idea of immortalizing the memory of Father Pavel Florensky in Sergiev Posad was proposed by his grand-sons Father-Superior Andronik Trubachev and P.V. Florensky. The authors of the memorial plate project are the artists S.Serov and V. Bunin. The plate was produced at the plant of the economical department of the Moscow Patriarch's office.

The ceremony of opening the memorial plate on the house where Father Pavel Florensky had lived was held on the day of Peter and Paul (Pavel) on July 12, 1990. The celebration was blessed by the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Alexei II. The memorial plate was placed by the window of Florensky's study overlooking the Lavra. The house is cozy, warm and pious. Everything has been left as during the life of father Florensky: icons, books, pictures and photographs, a large desk and a piano.

The eyewitnesses say that on July 12 it was rainy and cloudy. But when the ceremony was opened the dark clouds moved away and the sun appeared. The name of Father Pavel was not forgotten by everybody. He was remembered and revered abroad and in the town where he lived and worked and where still lives his family. The reviving interest to Pavel Florensky among intelligentsia is explicable. His activity surpasses the limits of religion and theology. The graduate of the Ecclesiastical Academy and the Moscow University, theologian and engineer, priest imparting to people ideas of Christ, politician, historian, protector of the national culture.

"Father Pavel lived in the part of Sergiev Posad where shined the icon-lamp kindled by the fire of St. Sergius", says the chief scientific worker of the Rublev Museum A.D. Chervyakov. " And this house-chapel seems to return to us father Pavel from that fashionable design where he has been placed by his secular admirers. Let this house be a stage on the way to St. Sergius."
