Farewell, Surge [31 Jan 2008|08:40pm]

I almost got electrocuted when my last saved can of Surge covertly busted, trickled down the back of my computer desk, and filled my (ironically enough) surge protector full of its tasty greenness. I was able to save about 6oz from the can... here are the last few mouthfuls in all their glory. Thought you guys might appreciate it here.

I'll miss it :( I have no more.

Drinking a can of Surge Right Now! [31 Jan 2007|02:31pm]

While beginning to pack up the storage closet on our porch this afternoon I decided to list some of the Surge on Ebay. I also decided that it was time to drink some of the Surge that I have been moving around for the past several years. Much to my amazement it is still carbonated! I guess being stored in the cool storage has helped preserve the soda. I am a happy chickie today. I wish I had a working digital camera to capture this.

I miss the fully loaded citrus goodness.

New to community - long time Surge lover [01 Aug 2006|06:31pm]

Hi!

It is great to find other Surge fans on LJ. I have been a fan of Surge since I first found it on a trip to Seattle in July '97. When I found that they were phasing out surge in 2001 I stocked up. I still have several 24 can flats and some 12-packs. Sadly I have to start the painful process of parting with my collection. There is a chance that my husband will take a job in Japan this winter. It is not really possible to transport my collection overseas. My main concern is that the cans would explode or leak in transit. I would be interested to hear any tips for storing soda collections. I have a good size collection of other cans and bottles of rare and discontinued sodas that I would like to keep if possible.

Anyhow I have posted 12 cans of Surge for sale here on Ebay. Take a look if you are interested. It seems that with the advent of Vault the call for Surge cans has gone down greatly. Hopefully there are still some die-hard fans out there that can give my surge a good home in their collections or stomachs.

One more question: When is the last time you had surge from a fountain? I happily remember drinking Surge from the fountain at Disneyland in 2002 and early 2003. The last place I saw Surge was at a couple Chuck E Cheese locations in California. There was also a drink stand in The Great Mall in Milpitas CA that had Surge icees.

Vault in Cincinnati! [02 Mar 2006|05:13pm]

orgasmicsoda
Anyone in Cincinnati, go to Kroger ASAP 'cause Vault is 2 for $1 and it is wonderful! Not quite as flavorful as Surge was but still wonderful, nonetheless. I found out about it less than a week ago and I've had 2 a day since.

God Bless the Coke company for finally giving back such a wonderful drink!

... I'm suddenly reminded of a question that I wanted to ask this community. Anyone here a Mountain Dew drinker? I've loved Surge/Vault since the first day I had it but I have never really been able to get into Mountain Dew. It's just bitter to me. ... I dunno. I'm just interested to see what people who like this drink think of it's competition.

I've just had my first Vault.

It was sold to me by a worker at my college's wee deli after I overheard a conversaton between him and another customer about how Surge was amazing, and this new Vault tastes like Surge "to the T".

I run over, "What tastes like Surge!?"

Deli kid to customer kid: "See, she hears 'Surge' and she comes running - everyone loved Surge"

Honestly, it reminds me more of MDX (the Mountain Dew energy soda) than Surge, but I do get a twinge of a Surge-ish taste to it, which makes it worth it.

I plan to buy more Vault.

Am I the last on the bandwagon, here?

EDIT: My Vault has been sitting out for a few hours (::cough 6 cough::) and now that it has gone kindof flat... it tastes very very very Surge. Flat Surge, but Surge, and one of my favorite Surge perks was the way I could leave it out for 3 days and it would lose basically no flavour. So yay Vault!

Today, in my Compossition and Language class, a girl left class for a little bit. And then she came back a few minutes later with a can of Surge. I asked her about it later, and aparently a friend of hers can get it for her once a month as a treat. I don't know how or from where. And the cans may or may not be 6 years old, but perfectly good.

I want some.

Hey, for anyone who doesn't know Vault will be featured in the pre-game entertainment at the Super Bowl, and there will probably be a new commercial premiere.

Hi, everyone. I'm new to the community but not to the fight. I was just wondering if there was any way I could get a hold of a couple of pieces of information for my own research. These items are as follows: Ingredients list of Surge, ingredients list of Vault, sales figures for Surge while it was still on the shelves organized by months/years/cases/profit in USD. If you could help me out, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Vault wannabe? [02 Nov 2005|06:17pm]

Have you guys seen the new Mt. Dew MDX energy soda? It tastes like Vault with a hint of Mt. Dew, it leaves that Mt. Dew after taste. Looks like the Pepsi company decided to make a rival for Vault since they decided to go national with it. Has anyone tried it?

Vault in VA [08 Aug 2005|11:43pm]

passionateeyes
[ mood | ecstatic ]

So, I was in VA for a week, mindlessly not remembering that they had Vault there. I was walking around Kmart and I came across the glorious soda, and bought a few bottles. I opened up the bottle to find a welcoming familiar smell of my beloved soda. The color is lighter than Surge, and there's more caffiene than Surge, but it definitely has the taste I remember and love. So for that week there was a highly caffienated me running around drinking as much Vault as possible. My boyfriend (who didn't even like Surge that much anyways) also found himself drinking it every day.

Now I'm back at college in DC, and I'm without my Vault. But, VA is only a few metro stops away, and I plan on going out there soon and buying as much Vault as I can.

Anyone who hasn't tried it yet, needs to ASAP. It's just as good as Surge, it's amazing.

I first tasted Vault a couple of weeks ago. I have to say that it brought back fond memories of Surge. I have told everyone I know about it and they have all started drinking the stuff. Let's remember: TO KEEP IT AROUND WE MUST GET AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE TO BUY THIS DRINK!
