This is a rare,
rare post from the moderator of
savagezeppo.
Some of you may have heard about Livejournal's image feed, which displays recently posted images. A few communities and other Livejournal users gather and post these images, either here on Livejournal or on an external website.
I have decided to opt-out of this feature, as I want everyone who posts here to feel secure in what they post. I don't want anyone's icons, art, photographs, or whatever you might want to share with the community to be flung out to the public, possibly stealing your bandwidth or even your creativity. (In other words, if it's posted here, it's only getting shared with the members of the community.)
There is a way to keep people from linking to your icons/images and stealing both them and your bandwidth.
To remove your own journal from these feeds:
Go to
The Admin Console and input type
set latest_optout yes and click on the execute button. Make sure that you are logged into LJ when you do this.
If you run a community, and wish to opt-out for the community:
Go to
The Admin Console and input type
set for communityname latest_optout yes (replacing 'communityname' with the plain text name of your community. Do not use LJ code.
Thank you. You may now return to your regularly scheduled community. :)
