Brandy's Home Office
I'm a first time poster in this community and its taken alot of nerve to finally get around to doing it. So now I present to you, my home office! Please be kind.

Still need to find a blind for the window.

Photobucket
The lettering on the wall was inspired by an insanely expensive decal I saw online. I liked it so much I made my own design, put it on a transparency and painted it on the wall. The monitor is attached to the wall by a bracket and I love that its super manuverable while being off the desk and freeing up valuable work surface.

Photobucket
I also try to keep the desk free of clutter by attaching lil' magnetic tins filled with office supplies to the backsplash (which can also be used as a whiteboard. Interesting side note: The older picture is of my Grandmother and Mom sitting in what is now my home office.

Photobucket
If you are wondering what is up with the vase half-filled with water in this pic. Its because my air conditioner has decided to leak inside the house recently (yay!). It really is very green though, I now water my outside plants with the water my ac produces out of thin air. My ac is obviously just trying to save me from a huge water bill.

Anyways, thats it! Whatdya think?

Thanks, I was nervous about doing such a dark blue but I'm glad I took the chance and did it because I love it now.

Thanks, I keep catching myself trying to find everything magnetic to attach to the backsplash and I'm constantly rearranging it to suit.

Where did you get the magnetic tins for the office supplies. I love that idea, and it'd work great for my office space.

Ikea. I believe they are meant to hold spices in your kitchen but I liked this use better.

Thanks so much and sure, once I get it a little more finished. I'm working on the kitchen right now which adjoins my office. My bedroom's done but it turned out a little too teeney-bopper for my taste so I might tweak it a bit before posting.

I have always said that creativity trumps money and that goes double for home decorating, and so many times in this community that's proven to be the case. Good for you for painting that design instead of paying for the insanely expensive decals!

One of my favorite things about my house is that it has so much family history. Everything I do to it I think is just to shock my grandmother about how different it is!

Very fun... and neat (I say as I sit here trying to de-clutter my own desk)!

The colors are fun and I love that you worked around the AC instead of just being like "oh well can't do anything fun with this wall now..." like some people would. Great office!

yeah the vase works well! I bet you could even stick a fake flower or two in there to make it even less noticable if you wanted!

I actually had a lucky bamboo plant in it but it made it more difficult to dump the water out.

I love the painted lettering – it looks so much cooler hand-painted than if you'd bought the decal. :)

I love your space! I'm curious about your desk - I love the clean lines and chunkiness of it. Where is it from? It seems like I've seen a similar one at Ikea, but this looks nicer than what I remember from there.

I really like the decal painting on the wall. I think I'll have to try the transparency thing. It's a great idea.

I love your place. I had a leaky AC and the remedy I used was cleaning the filter weekly because the build up of dust created excess moisture on the cooling coils. I don't know if that is any help since yours is in the wall and mine was a window unit. Good luck with it.
