First post in a long time....
Hello all! I posted here over a year ago (probably closer to two) under my old LJ name. Things have been shook up decorating-wise in our home, and I'm looking forward to sharing more photos as things get finished. We have a one & a half year old, and it means that most everything has to be out of his reach or climb-proof. Hopefully it's still saucy. ;)

First up is the bedroom... my husband begged for us to have one white room in the house, and this one is it.

What you see from the doorway...

Stitched photo - you can see the poster of Josh & Jason over the armoire. Bedding is west elm, drapery panels, rails, and wall mirrors from Ikea. Furniture is vintage Broyhill (except the platform bed frame - the headboard is vintage Broyhill, but the frame is from west elm).
bedroom 3
bedroom 3
Stitched... you can see the wood firring strips we put on either side of the rasterbation to frame it; it also looks a bit like canopy posts.

Another stitched photo - Josh on the bed, the window of course, and hexagon wall shelves from west elm around the tv. I've had a heck of a time finding plants that will survive as there isn't a ton of direct light.

The fluffy pillow is the dog's bed.

Closeup of the light .... bought it from some eBay site a while ago. We have it on a dimmer switch, it is white IRL.

And that's about it for now! Thanks for looking!

Lovely! Are the drapery panels the white birch looking items? If so, where did you get them from?

Thank you! Yes, the drapery panels and rail system are from Ikea. They're here. They aren't finished on either end, so if you wanted to hang them on a drapery rod you would have to sew the pocket into them, unless you used those clip drapery rings.

Ha, thanks! It's actually some type of textured plastic. It came assembled, though, which was a relief.

Thank you! The "painting" is a self-portrait photograph that I manipulated until it looked like a painting or illustration. Then I had it blown up to 20x28 on Zazzle.

I like the 70's flavor, yet you still manage to keep it from feeling *too* 1970's. I love the texture of your bedspread and pillow covers.

p.s. I have the same IKEA mirrors-as a headboard:

I love the 70's style but I agree about keeping it from looking like it's a page out of the 1970s'. And I love your place! I would have liked to have had a canopy like yours over the bed, but I have a feeling it might have been pulled down.

And the mirrors as a headboard are fabulous!

wow. LOVE IT.
how did you keep your rasterbation from being too pixelated? even with the smallest dots, mine always look like newspaper prints.

Thanks! :) And believe me, it is full of dots close up... see? I read on their boards a long time ago about making it four times larger than what you want, and then adjusting down the settings in Adobe to printing 4 of the rasterbated pages to an 8.5 x 11 sheet... so each page of the rasterbation would be about 4" x 5.75" when cut out. I haven't ever tried that, but I can see how it would look less pixellated/more detailed.

Thank you! The image is from the latest Goldfrapp cd "Seventh Tree." It's funny because I was at a loss of what to put over the bed, and then when I bought the cd their latest photos had the same trippy nature vibe going on that I felt our room had. It was meant to be. ;)

Thank you! I figured with the white walls I either had to go with some really saturated color on everything else (which I tried... didn't like it as much) or try to keep it semi-monochromatic.

I'm sort of enamored with birch trees. Don't see much of them around here but there is one across the street that reminds me how prairies they are. I saw some abhorrently expensive rugs with birch and was pretty much HEART BROKEN about not having them.... :D!

Ooooh, those rugs sound awesome. I love birch trees, too. Being in upstate NY we have quite a few. There is a grove of them along the edge of a reservoir that is nearby, and they look amazing against the backdrop of all these dark trees behind them. I tried to get a photo recently, but it didn't turn out as neat as it looked IRL. I may have to go back and try again. Maybe in the fall when the leaves change colors.

Hahahaha, ok! As long as you don't mind a little boy running in yelling "Mum!" at 6:30 in the morning. :) (luckily he's cute, though, so it's not so bad.)

And you can find the image here... Then I went to the the Rasterbator and blew it up to the size I wanted, and printed it out on full sized adhesive label sheets so they would stick to the wall. The only thing is that it comes out looking like newspaper print with all the little tiny dots, but that can be neat depending on what you are going for. And you might want to up the saturation on the picture before doing it because the white space between the dots tends to wash it out a little from the original.
