Japanese Noren

I put up a japanese noren curtain as an alternative to the bathroom door in my master bedroom. It looked lovely, but unfortunatly I don't have any pictures because I wound up taking it down not long after putting it up. For reasons unknown the curtain really freaked my dog out and he would bark at it constantly. I thought I would comment about it anyway as I think it would work well as a bedroom door solution also. They make noren in many widths and lengths so if you look it would be easy to find one to match the dimensions and privacy level you're looking for.

This cracks me up!

My cat is terrified of mirrors, so we had to mount the one we had leaning against the wall because he was so angry at MirrorCat that we were afraid he'd knock the mirror over and either get squished, or smash it to bits.

There was once a door there but by the time I got the apartment all that was left were painted over hinges.

Here's cuter pictures:

gorgeous space, just one question... where do you sit to watch that tv? :) or do you pull it out from the wall and angle it toward the couch a bit?

It's on a tv cart with wheels. We wheel it in front of the couch for couch watching, or flip it for bed watching. I made all the cords very long, and when we're done with the tv, I wheel it back to the wall and tuck the cords behind it for neatness.

Bedroom 1

Ok, this is a shot of my window, granted, but we put the same bamboo rod/linen panel up over our closet doorway (in lieu of a door) because I like our clothes to breathe. :)

I have that white panel/bamboo setup for my bedroom windows, too, and over a closet where the previous homeowners had removed the door. Simple, light and airy, and cheap!

Actually, I think I have that lamp on a nightstand, too. My walls aren't painted yet post-horrible-wallpaper; can I just have your room? :)

If you use one of those little spring loaded rods and some cheap curtain rings from IKEA or Bed, Bath, and Beyond, you can hang whatever type of curtain you want in the doorway. I used to have a closet with no door and I hung a sari over the doorway to hide the clutter.
