the treehouse
---

after two weeks of painting, wallpapering, installing the kitchen and building the window sill, i'm happy i finally moved into my treehouse apartment. a smallish 60m2 two-bedroom rental apartment in the same building where i used to live. those who ever saw my previous home might recognize most items, though i enjoyed purchasing some new stuff too. best loved new piece in the house is the 2m x 1m scrap timber table.

It is possibly the most beautiful apartment I have ever seen.

I want to say something witty and substantial, but all that I can come up with is "wow". Breathtakingly beautiful. Seriously, awesome work.

Damn.... you're apartment should be in a magazine too. Absolutely stunning. I love the clean modern architectural lines of the space and the warm earthy realness of the distressed table and the crates. Beautiful doesn't even come close. It's just about perfect. And the nurse print adds whimsy. Awesome!!

wow. i love it all! where did you get the light fixture in the dining room? is it hard-wired or is there a cord?? is the kitchen all ikea?? i looooooove it!

you can see the cord going to the ceiling wires here:



so there's no cord going anywhere :-)

most of the kitchen was built onto an old existing block. painted it, added a new top, and added a dishwasher and ikea shelves. door handles are ikea too yes.

I'm in love with your apartment! I saw you live in the Netherlands and I hope you don't mind if I add you as a friend. Having lived on the sunny island of St. Maarten for five years I have a soft spot for all things Dutch.

Your home is my favorite of any place I've ever seen, in person or in this community. I saved the picture you posted (maybe years?) ago of your gray living room with that nurse painting, and I have used it as a reference every time anyone asks me about decor! I am so excited to see all these big, beautiful pictures. The windows especially, so gorgeous! Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing.
