I don't know how many of you subscribe to Domino magazine, but in this months "Green" issue, they featured the Portland apartment of the husband and wife design duo Wary Meyers. Their designs are a mix of glamour/vintage/kitsch that really just gave me a design orgasm.Anyways, I went to their website, and I had to share the gems that I found there.Although this is not my home, I WISH that someday my home will be this saucy! I hope you enjoy these as much as I did!

lovely!!!, I'm a bit disappionted with the first room, far too much cream and beige, but the rest are tres saucy.!!!
although sometimes i think the term'saucy' has different meanings in the uk ,than the us,i'm always supprised when rather bland, white/ beige/cream places appear and are discribed as 'saucy'. I always associated 'saucy' with rather rich interesting and risque, not minimal and bland, maybe it's just that familiar tranlation thing. ;)
love that bedroom!!!

I am in agreement on the first room - it also looks cluttered and hard to move around in.

The Maine apartment looks much more liveable and like everything has a place to go that feels right.

very eclectic - right up my alley.
So are their designs "green?"

I guess they are considered "green" because they reuse and repurpouse from vintage and thrift stores, as opposed to using brand new things.Actually, their wallpaper in the dining room is "green" somehow. I will have to leaf through Domino again and figure it out.

I'm not too crazy about the pinks and greens -- a little too wild for my taste but wow those chairs with the faux(?) fur look awfully comfy. I'm definitely jealous.

I am a fanatical pink lover, but green is not really my taste either! But yes, those chairs look amazing.I'm sure it's faux fur because they are labeled as "green" designers so I hope they would not use real fur.

See, I lean more towards this asthetic than a "minimalist" one. But that's what makes design so intiguing, all of the different tastes that people have.

I'm in love - they even have a belle and sebastian poster on the side of the bureau in the bedroom...

And that kitchen - what do you think the little cans on top of the stove hold?

I want to go and buy a zillion multicoloured cushions for my sofa now - it only has 4 and seems a little drab in comparison!

god, YES.

don't get me wrong, I'm always very impressed by the uber-clean, super-minimalist stuff people get raves for here, but I'm never sure if I like it because it's appealing or if I'm train-wreck-style fascinated at the thought that people enjoy living in such spartan environments. they're interesting, and they clearly have some sort of appeal, but they've never touched me with the slightest bit of inspiration (other than to walk around my home and touch all my favourite things, which would no doubt be dismissed as seizure-inducing amounts of gratiuitous clutter by the dedicated minimalist MCM crowd.)

this, on the other hand, I can give an absolute 100% unqualified "oh, YUM" to, and oh MAN do I suddenly want to get back moving on some of the finishing projects around my apartment!

I am the same way! With children and a dog it would be damn near impossible to maintain a minimalist decor at my house!
That being said, i think these two strike a perfect balance between kitschy/bohemian and glamour/neatness.
And yes, they have inspired me in ways I have not been inspired in a long, long time!
