Bathroom: Before and After
....
[info]amandakenney

Hello! We bought our house about a year and a half ago. The bathrooms were the areas that were not remodeled. So, we were anxious to get to them! This is the smallest and one without a window. We wanted it warm and comfortable. We completely tore out the floor and drop ceiling as well as the vanity. We put in a new ceiling, tiled, new trim, vanity, lights and fan, among other things. Here are some of the photos from start to finish. Thanks for looking!

Living room - work in progress

Living room shot 5

I've always been working towards posting here, but due to budgetary constraints and lack of inherent sauciness in my previous abodes, I've always felt a bit constrained - I wanted to leave off on posting until things really were up to both my standards and the standards of the community.
Luckily, having moved into a fairly beautiful flat with great bones, I've been able to put together a bit more awesomeness. My house will be ready for a tour soon - I'm still working on the finishing touches for my bedroom and the bathroom - but I had my living room looking almost right, posted some pictures to the Open Sauce thread and got encouragement from [info]silly_narziss to make a separate post.
In that thread I was bemoaning the lack of a coffee table (since that was the #1 thing precluding me from feeling like it was just about right). Today, on wandering into the Salvation Army since I hadn't been thrifting for a while, I found a cute little retro table for $10! So with that boost in mind, I cleaned and organised the living room so I could take a few more shots and make a full post as a preview of things to come.

I like red, thrift stores and mid-century stylings... )

A year ago I renovated my bathroom. It needed to be a place to relax and instead of the standard blue, black or white tiles, I wanted to have warm colors.

I have searched and searched and searched for my 'before' pictures but they seem to have disappeared. *cry* To give you an idea what my studio looked like before it was a studio, the back section (beneath the loft) was bubblegum pink, the floor was peeling and it was full of children's furniture.

I spent around $150 on this project:

Paint = $0 (all on hand)
Sealant for Floor = $35
(3) Light Fixtures = $50
Fabric = $0 (all on hand)
Furniture = $? (I had everything on hand except a set of white folding chairs that never came...)
Other = $65

Hello hello! I've posted my past couple of apartments here - which i shared with roommates - but my husband and i recently moved into our own little place in somerville, ma. I've been working on it for about 6 months and, though it certainly isn't "finished", i think it's ready for it's saucydwellings debut.

this post will focus on the bedroom, studio and living room - the kitchen and bathroom still need a LOT of work.

lotsa pictures )

Alright ladies and gentleman. I'm not sure if this is saucy, but this room is just not going to ever get any better than this. And, this is the last chance to document this space, because after seven years it's finally time to move on. I start packing next week, we're moving.
This has been the space and place where I have been figuring it out, making it work, developing a style, and finally, creating a successful art business and supporting myself. The room and I have grown around and into each other over the past 7 years, everything is in constant motion. The walls are perforated with a thousand push-pins. I never replaced that horrid pink carpeting, I never took down the wallpaper border that I hate more than anything - of course now that we have tenants moving in soon, we're replacing everything. Go fig. But for today, it's still my room and I'd like to invite you in for a beer.

Hello, everyone. I'm really excited to be posting my VERY FIRST AFTER PICTURES! My home is 1950 cypress built. When I got the house, pretty much everything was pink (including the molding). What started out as a little project became a pain in the neck for me and my dad and a gut job.

In the end, I wanted something relaxing that would not overwhelm such a small space. I added a touch of royalty for my little girl, and voila.

We bought a new house in April and have been working since then to get it finished. I keep saying I'll do one big post when it's done, but instead it seems I'm going room-by-room. I posted my son's room and our patio in recent months. I'm hoping soon to post our living room/hallway, kitchen/dining room and bathroom. But for now, here's our bedroom that we just finished yesterday (save one or two finishing touches). As always, you can click on a photo to see a bigger version on Flickr.

So, I've been working on this freehand painting of a tree for a few weeks now and I've finally finished it (mostly). I still need to do the bits that extend up onto the ceiling, but I'm in the stage where I step back for a few days and decide where extra foliage (if any) is needed. I'm rather pleased with it..if I do say so myself, so I thought I would share it here..in the saucy place. ;)
