We moved into our new house in April. There's a nice big deck above, where my husband insisted upon having a table & chairs. I had really wanted a lounge-y patio area, and was a little bummed until I was outside one day and realized we could definitely do that underneath the deck. There was already a concrete slab but the previous owners had their wood storage there (just outside the basement door). So with a little elbow grease, some leftover Anno Unni panels and some budget decor, we ended up with this....

I just finished a powder room renovation based on this vintage seaside print by Ruth Mary Hallock. I picked up the frame very cheap and dry brushed a midnight blue acrylic paint over to set off the colour in the little girl's romper.

Since it was Christmas time when I posted my loft (http://community.livejournal.com/saucydwellings/1498236.html), there were a lot of things that were bound to change. Right now we're just trying to keep it crisp and airy and make it our little summer sanctuary. Thought I'd update on a few things we've done lately.

My fish has a pretty good view of everything on his little molded record perch... which I originally made as a bowl to keep fruit in lol.

My husband and I just re-did our bedroom to celebrate our marriage two weeks ago! I know, we have a weird way of celebrating! :) This isn't the entire room, since it was mostly a change in bedding and accessories. It definitely feels a lot more relaxed in the room! I added white voile sheer curtains to the windows and I love having lots of light in the room as a result.

It isn't painted it yet, so the walls are pretty boring. However, we are super indecisive, so it could probably be another year before we actually put some color on the wall. ...We are also in the market for artwork of some sort, but we've been holding out for something 'perfect,' which apparently doesn't seem to be anywhere near Ayden, North Carolina! :)

I also threw in some pictures of the adjoining bathroom. The new bed set seems to tie the two rooms together a little bit better than the original set did. It's not perfect, but we basically gutted [minus the tub and, unfortunately, the flooring] the bathroom and re-did it ourselves to make better use of the tight space.

I always love everyone else's rooms but I'm forever working on mine. Growing up, I didn't tend to keep very many decorative things, so I suppose my sauce is still in progress. :) But I'm working on it!

ETA: The old set was about five years old! :) I still ♥ it, but I needed some change!

I finally got around to taking pictures of my newly refinished room.

I've been meaning to post my bedroom for a long while, and I just got a new-to-me double bed &bedframe to replace my twin-mattress-on-the-floor, so I finally feel ready!

I am 22 year old art school graduate, living in a rental in Toronto. my style is kind of classic-eclectic (I have posted my kitchen &bathroom, shortly after I moved into the apartment) and I like my bedroom to have a very feminine feel. All my furnishings and décor items are either found at the curb & refurbished (re-curb-ished?), bought second-hand, or from ikea.
