Answer Me Challenge
by ralst ([info]ralst)
at 3rd May 2008 (15:00)

The idea of this challenge is for you to answer the questions posed in a story, video, graphic or poem. All answers to be posted on 19th July to coincide with the International Day of Femslash.

Very few people gave prompts, so unfortunately there aren't many questions to choose from, but if you missed the prompt gathering post and would like to add some to the list, just add them in a reply here.

Questions )

Thanks to those of you who did submit questions.

Answer Me Challenge prompt request

The poll was pretty conclusive in so much as you'd all much rather participate in an open style challenge. So here's the first part of that process, the prompt gathering.

The theme of this challenge is 'Answering Questions'. So what we need right now are some questions for people to answer. Those answers can be in the form of a story, graphic, video or essay, and can be as serious or a light hearted as you choose.

A couple of example questions:

What happened to Sofia's toothpick?

Are geeks really better in bed?

Why doesn't she love me?

I shall post a masterlist of questions in one week's time, but feel free to scan through the replies to this post if you want to get a head start on your IDF contribution(s).

All stories should be posted to this community - and wherever else you'd like - on the 19th July 2008.

A general theme for the challenge has been chosen - Questions - but now I just need to know what type of challenge/ficathon you would all prefer. Basically, there are two types on offer:

Sign up - you sign up and provide three prompts, and are then assigned a set of three prompts that another ficathon participant has submitted.

Open - we have a masterlist of prompts and you pick and choose which one(s) you like.

It will be the same due date for both - 19th July - but with an open challenge you are free to enter drabbles as well as full length stories, whereas with sign up there would be a 700 word minimum. Graphics and videos would also be more than welcome in the open style of challenge, but we could always do a sign-up version for graphics and videos too if there's any interest (let me know in a reply).

So, what's it to be?

International Day of Femslash
by ralst ([info]ralst)
at 21st April 2008 (18:28)

On the 19th July, 2008, the on-line femslash community has an opportunity to raise its head high and proclaim to the world its delight in all things femslash. Whether you're a seasoned writer, with hordes of ardent fans, or a timid newcomer, you have the chance to make your voice heard and to help put femslash well and truly on the map. Simply post your stories, videos, graphics, essays, poems or other femslash related works to an archive, community, group or forum on 19th July, 2008, to show your support.

The International Day of Femslash is not only a wonderful opportunity for you to show your support for the wider femslash world, but also to revive this somewhat floundering community. With that end in mind, I propose we have a challenge to tie in with the IDF, and shower the on-line world with masses of lovely Sassy fun.

In the meantime:

* Spread the word - both in your own journal and in other communities or groups
* Grab yourself a banner and some icons from the site and spread them all over your lj
* Sign up on the site and add your name to those who have already pledged their support
* Start thinking of exactly how you'll participate on the day

I shall post more about the IDF Sassy challenge tomorrow, but before then how about some of our graphics whizzes take a shot at designing some Sara/Sofia centric banners for International Day of Femslash?

Sofia's decision to purchase a motorcycle had been random, spur of the moment... )

Author's Notes: Yeah, this was directly intended as a sequel to Wrong Turns, Flat Tires, and Orgasms, Oh My! I really couldn't help myself. It was also my final submission to [info]lastficstanding for the ninth week challenge of using fruit in the story. Seriously, I couldn't help myself...

Thanks: [info]scullyseviltwin for beta-ing despite being drunk. In fact, being drunk was a desirable quality when looking for a beta for this.

Author's Notes: I haven't written these muses in a while now...and [info]ralst gave me the prompt of "wrong turns". And that was all it took. This was primarily written during work over the past 2 days, which was amusing in and of itself. *heh*

And the title? Direct reference to The Wizard of Oz, because I'm still on a Wicked kick...
