Sanzo's character is horribly bastardized in fanon. He's portrayed wrongly on many accounts, but the worst of them is the portrayal of Sanzo as an absolute bastard.
In both the manga and the anime series, one can find more times when Sanzo was kind than times when he was cruel. Cold, short-tempered, irritable, and corrupt perhaps, but not heartless.
If you believe that Sanzo should be portrayed more accurately/are a Sanzo fan/just want a place to put your feelings on him, then please join! Feel free to post rants, fiction, art, news, whatever you like (as long as it is Sanzo-centric). We have a tag listing now for easier searching. |
RULES AND POLICIES →
1) No flaming/trolling/hate mongering/spamming/etc.
2) Please keep R and NC-17 rated materials under a friends lock and well labeled.
3) Please put all pictures under a cut, just because some people might get angry if pictures are breaking their layouts. Also, please do the same with music videos.
4) In the past, we've been pretty lenient about posting other comm info, but I think it's time to put a halt to that. If you have a comm you've made or are a part of and want to rec, why don't you send ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) peachpai and karasu a note here and ask to affiliate instead? We promise to try to be better about upkeep in the future. If posts advocating other comms appear, we're going to have to delete them from today forward, so keep that in mind.
If you want to recommend a non-LJ Sanzo/Saiyuki shrine, that is fine. You may also pimp your Saiyuki RPG, but you may only post about the game once (so one post per game). If you post a game ad more than once, it will be considered spam and deleted. This is not a RPG ad board, after all.
5) We love seeing your fan works. However, just for future reference, we can't be held accountable for the asshats who inevitably will try to rip you off here and there along the way. If it's someone on this comm, and you can prove it, please let us know, and we will talk to them or ban them as needs be.
6) You can post scans, caps, and other official art, but... Please don't post anything you didn't scan or cap or translate yourself, and when you post it, please put it under a friends lock. We've been around for about three years now, so it would be good if we continued to not be banned due to copyright issues. ;)
[A] If you could, please note in your subject what you're posting about. For example, a fanfiction named... 'Sanzo and the Golden Trolley' might have the subject, 'Fanfiction: Sanzo and the Golden Trolley.' Also, if you're posting fiction, please also let us know what genre your story is, because it helps me to tag it. If you have a question, 'Question: Episode #' would suffice. If you're posting fanart, a simple, 'Fanart' would work. And so on and so forth.
[B] We have a lot of intro posts, which is great. It creates a nice community feeling, so we're not doing away with them, but just to keep things a tad more organised, we'd like you to post here with your introductions, using this form in the future:
Please only post things that are Sanzo-centric, and most importantly, have fun!
