Isamu Kobayashi [15 Apr 2005|08:46pm]

ardweden
[ mood | bouncy ]
[ music | Spin Doctors - Jimmy Olsen's Blues (Sanctuary/D.G.S.T.) ]

Isamu's pretty tall; he's 5'9" and still growing. His eyes are dark brown, and he has short, slightly mussed hair that's a careless sort of style but isn't bad looking at all. For that matter, he's pretty handsome, very physically fit, and *very* tough. He wears the boy's uniform, and since he isn't a bishounen, everyone is likely thankful for this. (Mechanics note: Appearance 1)

Academically, he sucks. He sits in the back, doesn't pay any attention in class, and frequently comes in late.

He's most well-known for being the school bully. In fact, that seems to be all he generally does for kicks. He hangs out with two other bullies: Shin Kotohiki and Youji Sano. Isamu does not tend to single out girls, though he isn't above hitting them. It's usually a pretty good idea to stay out of his way.

He also has a long-standing rivalry with a star soccer player, Mitsuru Takaoka, from before they came to Morikawa High. They get into fights fairly frequently.

Hanase Inoue [15 Apr 2005|08:20pm]

chamelaeon
Meet Hanase Inoue. Even if she doesn't want to meet you. Age 16, 5' 5", 127 lbs.

Hanase is a fairly atypical Japanese teenager - her tallness and gangly limbs make her look decidedly masculine. Her slender frame and lack of... *ahem* "assets", coupled with a decent amount of muscle, do little to alleviate the situation. She is, however, moderately attractive of face, and she is certainly graceful enough that she comes across as fairly attractive on the whole. Beautiful in an elfin sense might be the correct interpretation.
(Mechanics Note: 2 levels of Appearance.)

She wears her hair dyed blonde, and cut so that it hangs in at her jaw line. Her eyes are hazel, and usually behind half-oval glasses which she has a bad habit of looking over in a denigrating fashion. She has a small nose, and a small tight mouth which rarely smiles, outside of the occasions when she's mocking someone.

Hanase is in the Chess, Kendo, Computer, and Archery clubs. She apparently excels at all of them.
She also wears a boy's school uniform, to the consternation of the teachers and her parents. Her position in the Kendo club and the uniform regularly get her mocked by the students, but she either sullenly ignores the taunter or delivers her own scathing reply, depending on the social pecking level of the deliverer.
(Mechanics Note: Sexism level 2 - It's pretty obvious even casually.)

She is an excellent student, and enjoys a level of popularity among the "geek" contingent of the school.
(I have left the other tops of the geek heirarchy nameless. Hanase doesn't care about them anyhow.)
In keeping with this, she has a lot of neat technological gadgets.

And she hates you! XD

Chisato Kotani [15 Apr 2005|07:07pm]

[ music | Barry Adamson - Jazz Devil (The Sailor Soylent Show) ]

NIC HAS NO ELJAY. So I shall post in his stead. Introducing Chisato Kotani! Who, contrary to the icon, isn't full of hate. Or so I think.

Chisato is a fifteen year old Asian female. She has brown eyes and black hair. The hair goes down to the middle of her back and is normally done into a single braid. Chisato is of average height. I am given to understand that 5'3" would be appropriate. Chisato is mildly overweight. Her figure is plump and there is a pudginess to her face. She is not massively obese, however. I believe saying she is about fifteen pounds overweight gives the right idea. (Game mechanics note: I have taken one level of Unattractive as a result of this.) Chisato wears the school uniform, female version, at school.

Chisato appears to be an average student, given her answers in class.

Chisato is on the student council. She's also in the drama club, but I list this only in case another PC is too; I doubt random students would be aware of this.

Chisato has an older sister named Kirika who is a senior at the school.

Chisato hangs with a group composed of eight girls (including her). The others are named Emi Maeda, Michi Kinoshita, Naoko Nishimura, Natsumi Hatagami, Shinju Mimura, Takara Nomiyama, and Yukiko Oda. All of them are basically nice average girls who stay out of trouble. (I'm not sure if I'm supposed to list all their profiles too.)

First session tomorrow! [15 Apr 2005|02:18am]

kagami
Aight. MC2 is cancelled tomorrow on account of a buncha people missing and it being the last session. But I'm fired up and want roleplay. Soooo... since you're all done (or soon to be) with your characters, what say we get this game on? XD

Game to commence 9:00 p.m., or 9:30 at the latest (I hope :P). Be there! XD

Short notice, I know, but that's what the game was designed for ^^.

This also means that sometime soon you guys need to make those posts on what the other PCs would publically know about your characters. Don't forget :P

Backgrounds [03 Mar 2005|12:11pm]

kagami
You haven't forgotten about this game, I hope? I know I haven't ^_-

I'm getting a little ahead of myself here, but once you finish your characters, I want to check everything over and make sure it all works out, both points and concept wise. Not that I don't trust you guys, but y'know. I want to read over all the backgrounds anyhow. There may be some stuff I'll ask you to change based on my plans for the story. Or maybe not. Who knows? We'll work it out later.

So that's simple enough, but let me get to the main purpose of the post. You know, the part that means you have to work :P

Once the characters are complete and we go over things together, I want you guys to make a post to this journal, containing all the public knowledge that the other players would probably have about your character. Remember, you're in the same class. Not to mention that, judging from the concepts I've been given, you all, um, stand out. We haven't even gotten to your powers yet and you're already famous. :P But chances are there's more than a few rumors floating around about the lot of you.

Skill Caps [22 Feb 2005|12:19pm]

[ music | "Edge of the World" - 30 Seconds to Mars ]

I think I might have given you guys too much CP @_@

Um, well a question about max skill levels was brought to me today, and I hoesntly didn't think of it because I figured I didn't give out enough points for it to be an issue. But it looks like it might be after all.

I'm going to cap starting skills at level 2. 2 is something a professional might have, and you guys are high school students, so it's above and beyond. If your character works hard enough, though, 2 is acceptable. I'll also allow one non-combat skill at level 3, but it has to be a skill that's based off your princple stat.

Space/Time Distortions [20 Feb 2005|10:11pm]

[ music | "Die Another Day" - Madonna ]

Having played my previous games, Ard and Cham know that I normally run sessions day-by-day in game, meaning I'll start on Tuesday at X time, and if they don't have anything to do by the end of the session, the next session will be Wednsday, etc...

Not the case with this game. I'm going to be fast forwarding at points when I see fit. So if your characters have stuff to do between time periods, let me know.

Friends, Romans, Countrymen.... maybe just friends [20 Feb 2005|09:43pm]

Background stuff!

I don't expect anything too complicated for a background: general info, relations, why you go to Morikawa high, ect... If you wanna give me plot hooks, awesome. I love plot hooks. But it's not really necessary if you don't. And if you do, don't overdo it :P No government conspiracies or Mafia relations please ^^

Relations especially. I want the following:

* Family relations, including the next of kin of your parent(s)/guardian.
* At least one friend. He/she doesn't have to go to the school or even live in Izumo, so long as he/she exists. Um, but they do have to live in Japan :P I'm not going to deal with 3 penpals from Russia, France and the U.S. ^^
* Someone who looks up to your character.
* Someone who your character looks up to.

The last two don't have to be people your characters know well, but I do want idolization, not envy.

Unifoam! All purpose foam in one! [20 Feb 2005|05:31am]

[ music | "Plowed" - Sponge ]

Morikawa High has a strict dress code: students must wear a uniform to and from school. No exceptions allowed, the penalty for breaking the dress code can be pretty harsh.

Luckily (for Cham's character's sake), there's a loophole in the code: it doesn't say you have to wear the uniform of your gender. Cross-dressing, ahoy! Of course, if the students don't they're liable to be picked on anyhow.

So! Fashion time!

The girls uniform is brown and white: a brown mini-skirt and a brown jacket over a white buttoned blouse. They wear large red scarves loosely around their necks. Also, the jacket is short: it doesn't go down past the chest and the distance between the two sides in front is too small to close if there were any buttons to close it with anyhow (there aren't). It does have long sleeves, however. The school emblem, a gold cross, is located on the left breast of the jacket. The shirt underneath is short-sleeved. White-knee socks go into black dress shoes: the kind that are basically fancy sandles with a front and a heel. Black stockings are optionally allowed in place of the socks during winter. See Fushigi Yuugi for an example.

The boys uniform is lame. Aren't they always? White dress shirts, black everything else. That includes black dress shoes, black slacks and a black jacket. The jacket goes from the neck to the waist and is buttoned all the way down. The school emblem, a gold cross, is on the neck flap on both sides of the button, and over the left breast. See, well, just about any high school anime for examples.

Deadline and other stuff [19 Feb 2005|03:40am]

kagami
[ mood | excited ]
[ music | "Plowed" - Sponge ]

Here we are at the San LJ community. It took me a while to finally figure out how to make the design scheme look like I want, so now that I have I'm gonna post something :P

So! Character creation. I'm going to set a very tentative deadline of March 28. Chances are it won't take you that long anyhow (I know Ard is already pretty much finished and Cham already has a concept), but for the heck of it, that's the deadline. Note I'm going to be gone in mid March for ten days, starting on the 18th, so if you have any questions, ask them before then. If you all get done before the deadline, there might be a session or two before I got to California. I wouldn't count on it, though ^^;

Lesse... I think I forgot to mention a few things to Cham, so here's a general synopsis: You guys are students! Not normal, students, although you don't know it yet. You have powers! So far, the only ones you have are the bonuses listed in the rules. Normal humans are weaker than you. Even the above average ones tend to be more suspectible to shock and critical injury than you (although that doesn't mean you're immune ^_-). You also heal faster than normal people, and can take more of a beating.

That being said, you will acquire new powers over time, but they will usually be determined by me. I might give you a few free CP sometimes to increase you're "normal" attributes and SP is pretty much free-range, but usually I'll be handling the rest.

I don't want to give much away, but since Ard already knows (and she probably told Nick), I should throw this out there: Your opponents aren't human. They take control of humans, though, either by possession or by parasites (I haven't decided yet; leaning towards parasites). Upon doing that, they can do some funky stuff with the bodies, turning them into monsters. None of you guys know this, however. Yay!

Cham and Ard should both know this, but I'm not a very rules-heavy GM. Even in MC where combat happens every other session, the focus is on the story, not the numbers. The combat in this game will be less frequent than MC, but more frequent than Arcana (which means nothing to anyone except Ard, but maybe she can add input :P). So don't worry if your character's not an awesome combat machine. You're not supposed to be anyhow ^^

The game will be pretty dark. But that's why you joined, eh? ^_- Originally, I was going to set the game in the MC universe, but I decided it should be seperate because I wanted to establish something in my own universe (for once). That and if I put it in the MC universe I figure people would probably expect it to be silly. I won't be reusing any former characters in any major positions (they might get small cameos), but if you (Cham or Ard) draw any parallels between the characters in the game and characters in MC, it's because I wasn't able to make them different enough to fool you! Sorry. ;_;

Um... Names. This part mostly directed towards Ard: expect to see a lot of Arcana names in the game. Why? Because I only know so many Japanese names and I used most of them in there >.< I'll try to use new names to avoid confusion on Ard's and my parts, but similar names might show up anyhow. I won't use the exact names, but if you see Remi Kirishima and Takeo Okui, don't gimme any hash about it :P

Ard's bugging me about school uniforms. But I'm gonna make a post about it later, 'cause I'm tired. I hope you're all looking forward to this game as much as I am. XD
