Honestly, I wasn't sure to do this coming week's announcement, since there really is nothing for you. The following week will be quite different, so don't fret too much. However, I should be consistent about these things, shouldn't I? For your compensation and irony, here is Jack and Claire's first meeting... in Italian. Never let it be said I was completely hard-hearted on the pairing. All times EST.
Tue. July 14th: 10:00 PM NBC - Ballerina #10.16 (SVU)
Sat. July 18th: 10:00 PM NBC - Hell #10.17 (SVU)
Exit question: Think anyone can find the Jack/Abbie version for here? Shifty eyes. C'mon, it would be romantic ish.

Jack/Abbie inspiration video #4 (Jem's' "Falling for You")

I'm now serving up Jack/Abbie inspiration video #4: Jem's "Falling for You." Besides the haunting melody, pay attention to the guarded aspects of the lyrics. It works on both characters perfectly as to shield themselves from the potential pain and vulnerability of a relationship. It meshes quite well with their respective past traumas and Jack's failed romances.
Apparently, I'm not the only one who likens the song to an OTP, for YouTube is filled with them. Hah. Since there doesn't seem to be an official video, I'll use the '04 FoxRox performance. Enjoy the video.

Gallup's poll on the morally objectionable

Gallup apparently did a recent poll on morally objectionable behavior, based on the Mark Sanford wankery. Given how both subjects are the bread and butter of the L&O franchise, I think it's definitely worth sharing with you. Here are the main numbers:
Married men and women having affairs: 92% Polygamy: 91% Cloning humans: 88% Suicide: 80% Cloning animals: 63% Abortion: 56%
Link: http://www.gallup.com/poll/121253/Extramarital-Affairs-Sanford-Morally-Taboo.aspx
Of course, how that will play out with the past/present/future characters in the L&O universe is another story entirely. Nevertheless, it gives you a good idea on where Americans presently stand on these topics.
I'll include the Hotair.com commentary, as (a) it was my source and (b) there is an interesting side observation:
What got left off the list entirely is also interesting. Gallup didn’t ask about incest, pedophilia/pederasty, murder, or theft. Apparently (and thankfully), those are such universally-accepted taboos that Gallup didn’t feel the need to ask. Let’s hope that continues. Indeed, let's hope. Then again, if L&O characters-of-the-day engage into such taboos, then you have gripping TV drama, don't you?

Mod heartache: Sam contributed to Al Franken's election campaign

Recently, ATW had a posting on Sam's apparent contribution to Al Franken's '08 election campaign, which I was unaware about. The trackback link below tracks his recent donations, which is nice in terms of observing patterns. (Apologies if I'm using the "trackback" term incorrectly.)

As always, I disclose my "he/she has a right to donate politically as he/she chooses" disclaimer. Although, I am personally disappointed in that it had to be Al Franken. Franken has his right to be a leftist, liberal, etc., but it's his hyper-negativity and his hyper-partisanship, that I find most distasteful. The following links will give you a mini-synopsis on Franken's behavior, and you make the call (courtesy of Hotair.com). The second link has a bit of language, so be careful, there.

I'll certainly include the ATW link, for my fellow members discuss Sam's liberalism and his possible political naivete (re: his Unity '08 actions). It will also cut down on any redundant arguments from me on here, for obvious reasons (i.e., my defense of his liberalism).

That said, I initially had a difficult time dealing with this revelation, given my idolizing of Sam and the shock of his associating with the likes of Franken. Nevertheless, whenever I respect a man 99% of the time, I can forgive the occasional 1% lapse. Besides, I've discussed, analyzed and defended accordingly Angie's politics at length, so I should do the same for the other half of our duo.
To repeat and rephrase what I said earlier, "We report, you decide."
