Our Mission Statement.

This is a community designed for the sole purpose of giving the small but growing number of Sam Winchester fangirls a place to rant, rave, theorize, and picturize. While we appreciate other Winchesters as well, here at

sam_support we want to show our love and support for each other in general, and Sam Winchester in particular.

But back to Sam.

Toward the end of the second season of Supernatural, I found myself enjoying the episodes, but growing increasingly frustrated with what I felt was a distinct lack of Sam characterisation. What made it even worse, was that no one else seemed to notice. Or so I thought. At the time, I sort of swallowed my frustration on the grounds that, well, like it or not, Sam's just not the brother people get vocal about. So imagine my surprise when I started noticing a post here and there from people on my flist sharing in my frustration, and venting goodnaturedly behind cut tags about wanting more Sammy.

I hooked up with my accomplice in Sam love,

albydarned, and in a nutshell,

sam_support was born.

I'm an out and proud Samgirl. I love Dean, I like John, but Sam's my undoubted favorite badass Winchester hunter. It really surprised and disappointed me to discover that amongst the plentiful Supernatural fan communities, there didn't really seem to be a place for Samgirls to get together and talk about our favorite boy. Don't get me wrong, there are Sam communities, but they seem to either be in fact focused on both the brothers, or rarely if ever updated. And for me? That just won't do.

If you're anything like me, you're going to be experiencing severe Winchester withdrawal starting Thursday. With no new Sam on my screen until October or later, I hoped that creating this place would serve as a way for all of us to come together and keep the Sam spirit alive, get to know each other better, make new friends, and maybe figure out what the hell Sam's gonna do now after the events in All Hell Breaks Loose.

Anything and everything Sam-related is more than welcome here: picspams, meta, icons, fic, general squee and love. I'm honestly not expecting a huge membership, so you may pimp or not pimp, although anyone is more than welcome to join us and discuss their love for our trusty sidekick geekboy. You don't have to be a Samgirl to play with us, but all I ask is that you stay on topic, which is, of course, Sam.
