WELCOME! To saiun_challenge, A Saiunkoku Monogatari Weekly Fanfiction Challenge Community. Here you will find a variety weekly and monthly prompts for this wonderful series, and it's up to you, to write stories for them!

RULES:
One Entry per Person per Contest, unless stated otherwise by a moderator.
Be sure to Friends Lock any R/NC-17/Mature and above entries.
Please try to use proper grammar and spelling. We fully understand that English is not the first language of all members. So please don't be shy about sending a Moderator a PM to glance over your work. We are at your service to help!
Please use and LJ CUT for your stories, preferably after the INFO portion. Don't know how? Feel free to COPY&PASTE the code below:

When posting a Story it should contain the following, not to the letter, but something similar:

TITLE: The Story Title.
AUTHOR: Your LJ user name here.
RATING: G: General; T:Teen and Above; M: Mature; M+/NC-17: For Lemons, Violence, Adults Only, etc.
GENRE: Romance? Comedy? Angst? Drama? Tell us here.
WARNINGS: Give warnings for Yaoi, Yuri, Lemons, Blood, Violence, other Squicks, etc.
AU/CANON: Alternate Universe vs. Anime/Manga/Novel Plots
PAIRINGS: Who gets with whom? Let us know here!
WORD COUNT: A MUST for Drabble Challenges. Don't have a program? Google "word count" !
SUMMARY: Tiny little tidbit about your story.
NOTES: Anything else we should know? Background? Japanese used? Tell us here!

Currently we run concurrent challenges - weekly prompts of varying word count and one monthly prompt of 1500 words or more. Please be sure to check the posts or PM a mod for clarification.

Headlines should include the week number. Other than that, you can do anything you want.

ALL ENTRIES MUST BE TAGGED. PLEASE check the TAGS Page HERE first, before creating any new tags. Authors: If you have previously posted an entry, a tag already exists for you. If you do not have a tag, message a Moderator, and we'll create one for you!

New challenges are posted with voting posts and monthly challenges are posted at the beginning of the month with plenty of reminders in between. The deadline to submit your fic is 12 noon Central standard time (US) on Saturdays (which is 2 pm Sundays Tokyo time) unless altered by the moderator. If you cannot meet the deadline, please contact a moderator to discuss options.

If you happen to miss a deadline and the voting post is already up, then I highly encourage you to post your work in

saiunkoku_fic. There are no deadlines for that community.

NO FLAMING, HARASSING, ETC. We're all adults,here to enjoy the love Saiunkoku Monogatari. A first offense will earn you a WARNING. Any offenses made after that, will earn you a BAN from a very peeved Moderator.

Some like it hot, some don't. Please only leave constructive criticism where it is wanted. Authors: Be sure to include in your notes whether or not you would like some CC. We highly encourage commenting! Show your appreciation, and leave a comment with a cookie! There's nothing like attention/comments and COOKIES to keep authors revved up!

Stories should be new and written specifically for the prompt issued and this challenge community. You may post to other venues, but please don't take another piece of work written for something else and apply it here. The stories should be new. However, please feel free to post where you like once the voting is complete for that particular challenge.

While it is not against the rules to vote for your own work, you should only do so IF you feel the work is truly the best. But I will say that if the work is good enough, it will stand on its own without your vote. If due to the number of fics you must vote for yourself, just put yourself in last place.

Lastly, this community relies on YOU, the readers, to survive. We need YOUR votes to function so please take time to cast a ballot. It truly makes a wonderful community when everyone participates.
