For all the people who were planning on going to the saturday the 24th quest run, first off, I apologize to all of you. But the quest runs aren't over yet, and to make up for the missed session, there's going to be a run on saturday the 31st at 9PM.

So far, this is how the quest runs are standing, in terms of people who have confirmed which run they want to attend. If you want to attend a run, leave a comment or beep Jemli or Sionnach on the MUD to let me know.

Good Morning/Day/Evening Sabrousians! Guess what time it is?

QUEST TIME!

The quest will be running on Friday, July 23 at 9 PM EST and 11 PM, EST, as well as on Saturday, July 24, same times. I'd like for the quest groups to be no more than 4 to keep it moving at a faster pace, as larger groups tend to get bogged down. If the need arises from that, if additional runs are required, I'll schedule them. Seeing as I'm new to the whole quest running thing, please forgive any mistakes I make.

On to quest details.

The sun guard has requested that the questers investigate a complaint filed by the owner of the farm at the chuian tree. Several of his tree-hoofs were attacked, with one even being killed and eaten. Worse still, the fact that the assailant was able to get in and out of the fenced off farm suggests that they were sentient. Will the culprit be caught?

druids may notice (with some sadness) that call familiar is ONCE AGAIN disabled.

this is because i suspect it's to blame for the crashes. if i ever have time in my life again, and that time ever coincides with khtall's time again, we'll sit down together and try to figure out why.

sab should be back up. apparently the machine it was on crashed hard, but things should be fine now.

the server is currently down, with no word as to why. working on it.

hey sabrousians, this coming weekend (i believe...) is the chinese mid-autumn festival. better known as the moon festival. therefore!

The Festival of the Moon

the festival is to honor all things Moon-like, within reason. The Moon is a trickster and fond of playful rough-housing and trouble making. This is the God who created the Pooka, after all. A lover of Layrith and rather grouchy towards Razordemons, the Moon enjoys tribute. And tribute it shall have!

On october third 2009, the Mafia will be hosting the festival in the North Tek Gardens, at the pond (center of the gardens). Events already planned include a dueling competition and a riddle competition. Just remember, riddles need to be ORIGINAL...and the dueling is all role-playing, so even if you're level 3 you can challenge someone who's level 42 and win if you impress the judges :>

Prizes will be awarded to the winners of competitions, and everyone is welcome to add their own spin to the festival. RP strictly or loosely, but come and indulge in shenannigins in the name of the Moon. Prizes WILL include glory and bonuses, so try your hardest!

If you come up with a good competition idea (or just a fun RP idea) during the event and I hear good things about it, you may get glory or a bonus just for creativity :>

and if your character worships the Sun, maybe this would be a good time for them to come complain about these crazy Moon folk... :D

i've been noticing a few minor lag reports coming in today...

has anyone experienced lag issues on the new server? i can adjust it to our needs, but i need to know how big the problem is first.

in the meantime...more promotion ideas... if e-flyers aren't your style, there's actual paper flyers now! hang them around colleges, book stores, game stores, comic shops and other geeky hangouts you think might attract potential sabrousians. there's two versions, too, for whatever you think is more appropriate.

personally my suggestion for the one without the little cut-me-up-for-easy-tearing-off tabs is to print out several copies to be left in a stack somewhere so people might take one. but ultimately the choice is yours. :o
