Hello, I know similar questions will have been asked before but I've be searching back over the community and trying different things for weeks and nothings worked.

I'm having problems getting the navigation bar in my layout to look how I want it to in Firefox (my default browser). It works perfectly in IE, so I'm having trouble understanding what I'm doing wrong.

screencaps )

The navigation bar in FF dosn't have the bit of the content background extending over the top of it like it does in IE. Can anyone help me fix this and get it looking the same in FF as it does in IE?

If you need to see the layout live, its on my journal now.

Here's the CSS:

Many thanks to anyone who can help!

I used the tutorial found in this comm to move my metadata so that the moodpic was on the left and the tiny icons and text on the right. But now the metadata is right up hard underneath the bottom of the entry, and I want more of a gap there.

Example under the cut... )

I'm quite happy that I've changed my layout to a Christmas theme. It looks very nice but I'm wondering if there is a way to get the sidebar on the left side so pictures don't get pushed under it?
Here is my layer.

http://www.livejournal.com/customize/advanced/layerbrowse.bml?id=18365243

Can you tell me exactly where I have to put this code? I've been given so many codes I'm not sure which are which. Thanks.

Solved.

Hello.

I'm one of the maintainers of this community and a new spinoff community for it will be opened around Christmas. However the layout for the new community won't display this image behind the entry user icon. Instead there is a rather ugly white box around the user icon that should not be there.

A visual representation (image) of the problem is here.

After trying to fix this annoying issue with no luck I decided to come here to you lovely people in search of your aid.

Any sort of help you can provide would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Okay, I'm stumped. I'm not familiar with CSS--could you help me? My comment boxes are getting squished into the left side of my journal.

I really would like to know how to fix that.

I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of the | character between my comments/reply link, and to add a different divider. I'd also like to add a space after the new character since my current links are showing up like this:

2 |comment

If anyone knows how to change that, I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks!

Hey everyone! I'm having a very weird, random problem that I can't find a solution for. I just created a new style and theme layer to go with my new layout. But all of a sudden, some bits of text are not displayed correctly anymore, e.g. the signs » (as seen in my current music section), — and ♥, as well as certain German/French letters. I've looked through my CSS and my theme layer codes again and again but have been unable to find the error. I'd appreciate any help. Thank you!

EDIT: SOLVED.
Turns out I had a "♥" as the hover text of one of the images in my sidebar that messed up the entire layout. From now on, I'll make sure none of my layers have semicolons where they shouldn't be.

Problem you are having: I'm wondering if you could give me a set of codes with which I could replace the words current mood, current music, current location and tags with tiny icons?

I would like to know if it's possible to add a custom footer like the following two examples to my layout. I love my layout but I also love a pretty footer with relevant links. One of the examples is quite fancy but I'd really just want to know if this is possible even if it is a far more simple footer with just a few links side by side or links in columns.

hi there, I have disabled using the layout's stylesheet and copy paste the entire css code provided by minty_peach from http://minty-peach.livejournal.com/64579.html#cutid1
However it looks entirely different from the original http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g22/moodthemes_100/Picture1-1.png and turns out looking like this --> http://lachantilly.livejournal.com/
I believe the problem lies with the sidebar or other problem?? would greatly appreciate any help!

I've been having a little bit of trouble with tiny icons. I've been trying to change the default lj user icon to a different image, but when I replace to image url it doesn't show up. Can anyone help me figure out why? The code I'm using is:

Hi i am using a layout from [info]butterflybox but i modified it a bit to mix and match up.

I used the metadata code of an old layout in which it worked fine, but when i posted it with this one the : appears after each metadata tiny icon.

I've browsed the tags but I couldn't find a fix for this issue:

If someone on my friends page posts an entry that contains a div class="clear" tag, it forces a break in the content until after the sidebar ends:

I am currently trying to add a side bar to the layout I am using but I am not sure how. In the Code it says "sidebar display: none;" and I dont know what to change that too to add one. So I was wondering if any one could help me out.

Got this layout is from [info]fruitstyle. I had replaced the default 'edit comment' before adding the header, but the CSS code wouldn't load so I had to remove it to add my header.

And I can't replace the custom group lock either; the CSS code won't load. The creator of the layout gave me the code but it won't work.

EDIT: Problem Solved

The problem was that I couldn't add anything else because the code had reached LiveJournal's max on characters allowed. I deleted the (-------) that was used to help find certain sections of the code.

I got this layout by [info]passing_girl and changed it a bit to fit my taste. I've fixed almost everything that needed to be after I made my changes to the original layout. But there's one thing I can't fix: there's a huge gap between the end of the text of the first entry and the tags/currents on every page. The tags/metadata on the first entry start where the sidebar ends. You can see it in this pic. I zoomed it down so that the gap could fit in one screen shot. Not very good quality, but it does the job.

I've looked through my CSS code a thousand times and I can't figure it out. I've also looked at old entries in this comm but the fixes that worked for other people did not work for me.

I'm using Firefox and I have a paid account.

Original code here.

My code behind the cut. )

Thanks!

SOLVED! I've finally figured it out. I changed clear: left to clear: none in comments, ljtags and currents.

I've just changed my layout and edited it to my needs... but while it looks good to me in IE7, i asked my friends who use Firefox to check it and it looks all odd to them (like the userpics cover part of the entries, the subject line is in the middle of the entry, etc).

Is there a way to fix it? I'm using a Paid Account.

My edited layout is here: [info]rory_tutorgirl
The original one is located here, the rainbow one.

I'm putting my codes in here if that can help )

Thanks for any help!

I apologize if this has already been asked/solved, but everything I've tried either doesn't work, or messes up my CSS completely. It's probably something simple, and I'm just missing it. I'm using a paid account, too, if that makes a difference.

I've been messing around with my currents and I was wondering, how can I remove the word "tags:" and make my moodtheme image on the left before all the information? Like this.

Right now, my currents look like this:

Thanks to any help in advance! (:
