I got this layout by [info]passing_girl and changed it a bit to fit my taste. I've fixed almost everything that needed to be after I made my changes to the original layout. But there's one thing I can't fix: there's a huge gap between the end of the text of the first entry and the tags/currents on every page. The tags/metadata on the first entry start where the sidebar ends. You can see it in this pic. I zoomed it down so that the gap could fit in one screen shot. Not very good quality, but it does the job.

I've looked through my CSS code a thousand times and I can't figure it out. I've also looked at old entries in this comm but the fixes that worked for other people did not work for me.

I'm using Firefox and I have a paid account.

Original code here.

Thanks!

SOLVED! I've finally figured it out. I changed clear: left to clear: none in comments, ljtags and currents.

I made a new layout for my community [info]hackwire. I wanted the tags in my topbar to be in a scrollbox. I got that. But now my sidebar looks messed up. The tags are pushed to the bottom and the same goes for my text and links.
How can I fix this?

I've just changed my layout and edited it to my needs... but while it looks good to me in IE7, i asked my friends who use Firefox to check it and it looks all odd to them (like the userpics cover part of the entries, the subject line is in the middle of the entry, etc).

Is there a way to fix it? I'm using a Paid Account.

My edited layout is here: [info]rory_tutorgirl
The original one is located here, the rainbow one.

I'm putting my codes in here if that can help )

Thanks for any help!

I apologize if this has already been asked/solved, but everything I've tried either doesn't work, or messes up my CSS completely. It's probably something simple, and I'm just missing it. I'm using a paid account, too, if that makes a difference.

I've been messing around with my currents and I was wondering, how can I remove the word "tags:" and make my moodtheme image on the left before all the information? Like this.

Right now, my currents look like this:

For some odd reason the first post on both my page and my f-list page, the userpic is displaced and I am not sure how this happened.

Paid account, [info]la_petite_singe. I'm using a custom layout, and I want to tweak it to have a tiny icon for current location like the ones for music/mood/tags. Also, I want to find a way to make bold text a different color to make it stand out (white, to be specific).

CSS Stylesheet problem.

I've searched high and low in the CSS coding, but I can't find where i'm going wrong. My tags above the metadata are showing as a list, but without commas separating them so it's hard to distinguish between them.

Hi all. In my old journal I used this code to get rid of loudtwitter posts on my friends page

.loudtwitter {
display: none!important;
}

but it doesn't seem to be working any more on my new journal. Is there a new/updated code that will work please?

Many thanks.

I have a question about the sidebar titles and I'm hoping someone here can help me. Is there a more specific way to modify the titles? I mean, is it possible for me to make changes to one particular title instead of all of them at once?

Layout in question: [info]oooxlala

I'm still fairly new to all of this, so I'm sorry if this is a dumb question. I know you can change the color, font, ect. of certain things through CSS, but I wondering if you could change the second letter of your subtitle? I would like to change the O in [LOVE] to a pink and leave the other letters. Is this possible?

I've found out how to change the look of bold/underline text through CSS, but I can't get it to work for the italic/strike through text. I've even tried out different layouts like this one http://community.livejournal.com/mintyapple/336297.html and it still didn't work. Is there an option I must turn on or something?

Thank you for any help.

My Issue: The tiny icons for users and communities are showing as the same thing (coffee cups), even though I've attempted to insert the URLs of different images. Is this something that can only be fixed with a Paid account, or have I done something wrong?

Hi, this is actually my test account for layouts, so you can go to my journal to see the layout as is.

But for this particular one I'm using 'overflow:auto' so I get a small box and then you scroll to see more stuff. But I think the scroll-bars look kind of ugly against the background and was hoping to hide them. I've used extensive google-fu, bing-fu, checked w3schools, and gone back at least 60 entries here for the stylesheets tag.

Also supposing there it can't be 'hidden' is there at least a way to change the color of it to transparent or black? :[

When I click on the summary links on my journal sidebar, it SHOULD target link to the entry on the journal page, however it doesn't seem to. The links default as (i.e.) http://bexatious.livejournal.com/#bexatious271343, and I'm not exactly sure how to fix the target in the css so it will jump to the entry on the journal page.

I'm not sure how to properly explain what I want but I'm willing to go into more detail if needed.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Hello, I'm having problems getting the navigation bar in my layout to look how I want it to in Firefox (my default browser). It works perfectly in IE, so I'm having trouble understanding what I'm doing wrong.

screencaps )

The navigation bar in FF dosn't have the bit of the content background extending over the top of it like it does in IE. Can anyone help me fix this and get it looking the same in FF as it does in IE?

If you need to see the layout live, its on my journal now.

Here's the CSS:

Hi, I have a plus that I want to use for storing fanfiction I write. Its been years since I used LJ and to be honest I am completely and utterly at a loss with this new coding . Can someone tell me in detailed terms how I get a "friends only" image to be the first thing any one sees when viewing my journal? I think you used to be able to make a sticky post but as I am not seeing the option I guess I am either misremembering or they have removed the option.

I am not sure if I need a code to make the first post sticky or if its a code needed for an image. I did look at your sticky post tutorial but since its not text I want to make sticky I couldn't begin to adapt it.

Hi,

I'm having some problems with my personal journal that I can't seem to fix no matter what I try. I'm trying to change the border colour for the user icon in the hover pop-up screen. The border currently shows up as #4F4F4F to me, and I've tried to alter that code to a different number, but it seems to stay the same. My other problem is, my entry title font in the individual entry webpages, seems to be set to Arial Narrow instead of the Times New Roman I had it set at. I didn't even alter the font family. If anyone knows how to fix these problems I'd appreciate it!

Thanks!

I'm using this layout by [info]ruemadame over at my comm [info]coolmyheart. I modified the CSS to push the sidebar and entries to the right side to give me more space for the background image on the left. (Other changes to the CSS include editing the header so that it could look more like the original layout, since my earlier changes kind of screwed up the grey bar on top in the original layout.) The comm looks the way I wanted it to look in Firefox and Safari, but in IE, the entries are pushed down and part of the subcontent falls underneath the sidebar. There's also a bigger space between the entries and the background image.

Screencaps )

I tried adjusting the margins and widths of the subcontent, maincontent, entries and sidebar, but even with a bigger space between the entries and the sidebar, the entries still won't go to the top of the page. This is the code I'm using now:

Any help would be great!

I'm having a bit of a problem with getting Firefox and IE to match up.
There's more space between the top of the content in Firefox and no such issue in IE which follows my margins.
It's almost as if Firefox adds its own padding in the header.

Here's a screencap of the header in Firefox:
