Is there a way to customize the wording of the footer? I'm trying to play around with the wording at my slavezombie blog but I don't see any options to customize text for it.

How can I hide the "current mood, music, location" part of my entries?

I'm wondering if there is an easy way to list the entry titles on the sidebar so that they contain the total number of replies instead of just a pound sign (#). If you look at magnoliafires, you'll get an idea of what I'm after.

1. Is it possible to make the default icon in the sidebar to function as a link to my userpics page?

2. How could I get some space between the body of an entry and its tags?

Is there a way to get rid of some of the links at the bottom of each entry on the recent entries page? 'Edit Tags | Add to Memories | Tell a Friend | Track This' aren't really necessary and just make the entries look cluttered.

How do I add a header image to a basic account?

And is there any way to remove the sidebar/menu altogether and put links in the main column with the entries, just below the header?

I love the tranquility II layout, but I'd like to have a tags list in the menu (like I do now in my flexible squares layout).  Is there a way to do this with a free account (or even a plus account)?

Can anyone help me here?

I have the tags on my entries and I have a paid account. How can I get my tags to appear on my sidebar and is there any way to get the cloud effect (where the tag used more often is larger)?

A few of the codes I've found for other layout styles screw up the layout theme already in place. I'd like to do this without having to go re through and fix my layout.

Any help would be great. If you can help with just getting the tag list on the side only that would be great too.

I have a couple of quick questions for you lovely folks.

The first is this, my friends page, at about the fifth post down. As you can see, the voice post is messing up almost the entire page; none of the fifteen or so entries before it are displaying, and their comment links are all smushed together. Is there any way to fix this?

Secondly, this style seems not to be able to display embedded videos. This is a screencap of an entry with customized comment pages disabled, and this is with customized comment pages enabled. As you can see, in the first screencap, with customized comment pages disabled, you CAN see the embedded video. In the second, not so much. I have the same problem when browsing my flist - if they don't put videos behind a cut, I can't see that they're there. Is there anything that can be done so that embedded videos actually show up?

Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Has anyone ever adapted the Bi-Level Tags in Sidebar Flexible Squares tutorial for tranqII? I'd really, really like to use it, as I have many, many tags. I've tried tweaking the code myself, but I quickly hit a barrier because tranqii doesn't have a sidebar box function like Flexible Squares.

Can someone point me in the direction of a coding for dummies or beginner coding comm? I have the Tranquility II layout on my LJ, but it's a bit plain. I'd like to organize the sidebar into boxes for a cleaner appearance & maybe add a banner header but I don't know anything about coding. I would however like to learn. I'm at work so I may not be able to respond to everyone's replies, but I'd really appreaciate some help.

If anyone is wondering why some of the fonts on their journal just got bigger, it's because the default "Entry metadata font size" was increased in the latest code push:
I set mine to 80% and it looks how it did before.

Does anyone else still have that enormous gap between the first two entries? I was told someone was working on fixing that but I haven't noticed any change yet.

Hey, this is the first time I've played with Tranquility II using the "new" S2 editor, and I apologize if the solution to this is really easy or obvious...but I am, as all of you probably are, really picky about my style. And I don't like how there's no line break before the tags are listed. Is there a way to adjust this via CSS? Or hide tags on the layout, even. I like having my entries tagged; I just wish I had more control over how they're displayed. Thanks to anyone who can help.

When I was updating my own custom style based on Tranquility II yesterday, I was checking the Tranquility II layer source and noticed a change that has gone in that seems a bit odd to me.

Using the default settings, the CSS stylesheet for Tranquility II is presented to the browser as a seperate CSS file via a <link> tag in the <head>. This CSS file used to include any custom CSS overrides, but recently it seems to have changed, and now any custom CSS is instead embedded in a <style> tag in every page.

This seems wasteful to me; if you have a large amount of overrides it can add a significant amount of data to each page impression. Now, I know I could just link to an external stylesheet (which is what I intend to do have now done), but I'm curious as to why this change was made in the first place. Is there something that didn't work properly when the custom CSS was included with the main CSS?

In the last week or two, a large gap has appeared between the first and second posts on my Friends' and Recent Entries pages. I'm running Windows XP, and it happens in both Firefox 1.5 and IE 6. Anyone else notice this? Any ideas what I can do to fix it?

EDIT: I see it on the s2_tranquility page too! The second post on the page seems to start where the sidebar ends in both cases.

I was wondering if anyone could give me the CSS code for putting userpictures in the recent entries. I tried with the whole, long code and I kept getting errors.

Also, is there a way to put pictures in the sidebar or get rid of 'page summary'? Can pictures be placed there instead?

Hello there. I was changing the layout of a community and after adding the header, both the metadata and the main page moved to the left side of the screen. I'm not sure why this happened. The moment I remove the header, it returns back to normal. So, I wonder, what's the problem?

edit: After a lot of changing, I've realized that it's because of the size of the image header, 970px. If I shorten it to 950, the layout doesn't move much from the center. However, I assume there must be a way to have a long header and yet the layout stays in the center. Still wondering about that.

Is there anyway to change the font size for the text in the actual box where someone is typing out a comment? And if so, is there a way to do it without muckin' about with layers? I'm willing to learn layers, but thus far I've managed to avoid them so I'd like to keep it that way cause they're mad intimidating.

Anyway, what makes it even more strange is that the font is different sizes depending on which view you click the link from. If you click "leave a comment" on the Recent Entries view, it's small but not ridiculously so. But if you first click the number to read other's comments and then click "leave a comment" from that view, it's ridiculously itty bitty. However if you reply to someone else's comment it's back to the small but not unreadably so.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've been using t2 layout for a comm I manage for quite a while now, and today I went to customise the layout a little, intending to add the tags to the sidebar.

But LJ seems to have released their new customisation panel and I cant figure out how now!

The comm is a free account, but I am pretty sure I could change what is in the sidebar as I turned a few things -off- before. The page summary for example. But now there doesnt seem to be a sidebar option in the customisation panel. I clicked the custom options tab and there is Presentation, Colors, Fonts, Text, and Custom CSS. Nowhere on these is a sidebar section whre I can choose what displays on it.

This just bagan. Yesterday my Link list was suddently justified about a tab space to the right of where it had been. Today, my header bar is about twice as tall as it used to be. Haven't changed a setting in months and months both on LJ or on my computer.

Hey everyone! New guy, here! I just discovered the beauty that is Tranquility II.

ANYWAYS, I'm a little bit confused. They say it's a CSS based layout but there is no option to have full control of the CSS, only what will fit in that little box? Is there anyway to include the stylesheet I customized (http://himitcho.com/lj/global.css) so that its properties are reflected in my layout?

ok, here's my problem, and it's hard to explain. sometimes, when i first open my layout, my sidebar with my links and all is positioned higher, in my header. when i hit refresh, it repositions down where it should be, but it annoys me to constantly have to hit refresh. i know next to nothing about layouts and coding and all, but i have my coding here, under a cut. i don't know if i missed a line, or if i need to adjust some pixel lengths or anything. ANY help at all would be so appreciated! thanks.

Ack, sorry to double post, but this is a more serious glitch and I'm too clueless to have any idea where to begin! One of my friends complained:

"When I press on reply after your comment, it works out well...then I can type really visible, black text into the box. But when I click "leave comment" after the entry, this box shows up, and the text inside is small and bluuuurry!"

Another said:

"Hmm. I'm using Firefox on a Windows machine, and the type in this textbox is showing up in sans-serif gray, about 7 or 8 point. I'm starting to think LJ just has not got the compatibility thing down yet."

And of course it looks just FINE on a Mac.

Apparently it's only the first time one makes a reply, not subsequent replies. What the?!



HELP! I'm afraid I'm totally bewildered by LJ's customization interface. I understand CSS at least a little but it's total voodoo to me trying to figure out how to enter it into their wizards and advanced customizations layers editor.

Wow, after browsing around your community I have gone from knowing NOTHING about lj layouts to being able to poke CSS at least a tiny bit to customize headers and pics and stuff! I'm stumped on one thing. I went and added an image border to my userpics, like this:

But to my surprise, there is whitespace between the userpic graphics and the image border. Where's that coming from? I've hunted for hspace/vspace, but they shouldn't make an image border fail to hug the image!

I'd rather just have a thin black line wrapped around my graphics.

Hi there! I really love the Tranquility II theme, but I'm having terrible trouble with embedded pictures in entries (see this journal entry for an example, or, even more extreme this entry which should have a pic showing, but doesn't!)

Any help would be gratefully received!

Is there a theme layer code to display icons on the Recent Entries page and the entries themselves?
